I bet anything , people come on here in March 2016...hating on Batman. Loving the visuals, suits, they'll love that stuff for years and continue to put down Nolan because of it. But just like MOS, they'll find him too extreme, oh he kicked Supermans ass, he's too grumpy. I might be one of those people, im not sure. But i can see it being split down the middle like Zack's Superman.

I bet your right. It's like that with every cbm or character. Marvel or DC, hero or villian. You will always have haters. Just like you will always have those creepy Nolan cult followers. Nolan can never do wrong. The glory is that you are able to have your own opinions. Who cares what other people think. If you like something and you are able to enjoy it ..thats all that matters.

I love when people are sorta honest and admit that they are waiting to hate a movie and a portrayal of a character. I really do give points for being honest. I have plenty of projects that I think are going to be crap as well.

I could see BvS sucking but I'm optimistic for now. Some days it's 70% and others it's 80%.

I think everyone here is taking all this a little....too....seriously....

They're just movies, people. There's way too much philosophy, politics, and overall emotion going on here about something that is simply entertainment.

ooh look who's trying to fit in with the cool kids. :funny:

Uh...no.

There's a reason I put that in quotations. That nickname, while untrue, is pretty symbolic of how some feel about MOS.

Only because they misunderstand the character of Superman.

I'm very excited for the day you'll be wrong. I am almost looking forward to that as I am looking forward to the actual movie and that's extremely high.

For better or for worse, people are just too passionate about these characters to ever keep things in perspective for long, myself included. But I still think one can be passionate and be a little more respectful of other opinions. I don't know, it's probably insane to make any sort of appeal to reason here, but I guess no harm in trying, eh?

I really hope the trailer will come along, blow all of us away and get people more on the same page. I am feeling more ready to start embracing and getting excited about this movie now than I have in the past year or so. But the behavior in here sometimes is a bit of a buzzkill for me.

Film is not just entertainment. If you're a cinephile, you know that's true.

This genre may just be about entertainment, but it's under the medium of film, and i feel like some of these characters have it in them to be more than just that.

Nolan proved that you can translate a superhero to the big screen with real actors, and have it be a mix of entertaining with some real character, serious themes, etc. Others can do it too but Nolan just broke the ice. The potential was ALWAYS there, it just took a while for people in the business to figure it out.

LOL, you'll see, ill show yuh. All signs are pointing to a DKReturns Batman/Bruce. People will be split.

I think there's a reason why you don't see guys like The Joker and Shika around these parts, lol

One thing I will say about Snyder is that his trailers are excellent.

Well, i dont see it that way. Let's just move on, because i love the fight scenes, even if they're not as fast as you want them to be. Im aware that they dont make me stand up and go HOLY S**T that was INSANE!". But i dont need it to do that. I thought they were solid, a bit flawed, but not a mess like you guys claim them to be. The Bane/Batman sewer fight is still the most realistic, and impactful fight scene ive ever seen in a big budget action or superhero movie. Raw, no thrilling fancy crap. I dont want that for Affleck but it's still the bees knees.

Again, I think you're mistaking the desire for entertaining fight scenes with the desire for "fancy" fight scenes. I don't want to see Batman using a bunch of flowery maneuvers. I want him to be direct, efficient and forceful.

For the record, I love that scene (though, some of those punches don't land believably), but I disagree that there was no "fancy crap":

Overall, though, I think if the majority of TDKT's fight scenes were more along the lines of this scene, you wouldn't be hearing many complaints.

Yeah, it's like sports rivalries. Sports are great fun, they offer a thrilling experience and something to cheer for. They can even be big events that bring people together.

But then there's the ugly side, where people curse each other out, become extremely hostile, and sometimes even violent. We tend to forget what it really is in the first place....entertainment.

It's sad to see perfectly normal, sane people becoming so uncivilized and barbaric over something as (ultimately) meaningless as sports or movies. I appreciate you for being so balanced and civil

Now I just want a fight scene set to Iggy Azalea's "Fancy".

Sure, you're absolutely right. But my point was that we don't have to be so petty and argumentative over it.

Yea. Those were good times when the Batfleck in the suit pic was revealed.

Doubt it. A ton of people on here still hate on that sewer fight, while others like myself see it as the best comic book movie showdown they've seen. Even if something like Winter Soldier had better "choreography". I loved that too, but i felt more impact from the punches and more emotion with the sewer fight. They were slower because the story called for it. Bane is in his 40s and massive, Batman is 40 and not healthy. Cap is in his prime, a super soldier, quick as can be...so is Bucky. Batfleck is older than Bale's Batman but he's been doing this for 20 years straight, and it seems like it's straight out of the comics.

I've embraced it. Im excited for the trailers, and sure it will be awesome. But Snyder always nails his trailers. His movies are almost like a different project. Sometimes.

I still think the crowd will be split once the movie comes out. Even though i believe Bats v Supes will be better than MOS.

You may be right that some people want fancy fight scenes. As for myself, I do not want that and hope we don't get a Batman who's doing a bunch of unnecessary, flashy flips and kicks. Nevertheless, I believe that their desire for that comes from the dull fight choreography we've gotten in every live action interpretation of Batman to date. I love TDKT, but they're not perfect and I don't think there's anything wrong with acknowledging the few shortcomings. Especially, when considering the ways this new interpretation can stand out from / improve upon the last one.

Oh yeah, Snyder's trailers are like out of body experiences. I'll never forget the feeling I had sitting in the IMAX theater for the midnight screening of TDK and seeing the Watchmen teaser for the first time. Makes it hard for the movies to live up to them sometimes though.

There will be haters, of course. Anybody deluding themselves into thinking this movie will be universally loved is in for a rude surprise. There isn't a current Batman or Superman film in existence (besides maybe Superman IV and B&R) that each of those respective fanbases agree on 100%. Combining the two characters only complicates things further and there's no way every fan will be happy with the outcome. And the thing about haters is...they become loud minorities.

That's not being cynical, that's just being realistic. Better to accept it now. I do agree though that this will very likely be more popular than MOS and be seen as an improvement.

I appreciate you for being so balanced and civil

Ditto. :yay:
