The only time Bales voice ever bothered me was in TDKR.

WHEREISIT??!!

But yeah, I think Nolan felt pressured to make TDKR and it kind of shows.

But I think Bale at least was good at bringing to life the sympathetic aspects of Batman in TDKR.

But back to Ben. I feel like if he were to yell, his voice would get very bassy and distorted. Like a Bat out of Hell.

Voice sounds awesome, wtf people? I like the slight modulation, it's cool and it's not over the top like Bale's was. I've always been a huge Ben Affleck fan but he really impresses me in the trailer, especially that opening scene, delivery, look, the gruff looks fantastic on him, not to mention that his fantastic butt chin was born for Batman.

Agree with all this. I remember watching Affleck in Hollywoodland thinking he would make a great Bruce Wayne, looks like the Animated Series version come to life. Something about him I've always liked as an actor, when I first heard he was cast as Batman, I thought it was perfect casting, the role he was born to play, then I went online and saw the big outcry. Then I REALLY wanted him to kill it in the role just to shut up all the haters.

Love the modulated voice, I think it sounds so dark, scary, and menacing, like a monster. Just perfect. I absolutely love the Nolan films, but I have never been much a fan of Bale's Batman voice, just felt way too over the top and forced, like others have said (it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the films). But I think they knocked it out of the park.

I disagree.

Rises is my favorite of the trilogy. And I find it very hard to choose a favorite, somedays its Begins, somedays Rises. Lately I have felt that Rises is my favorite.

haha I am a rises defender, but even I can see that at some moments in the script process he didn't put as much care as he did previously.

Ever since TDK, Bale's voice has been horrible. I still think the worst is after he captured The Joker.

"DIZZ SURTY, JUST SHOWED YOU, THAT ITZ FURL OF PURPLE, READY TO BURWEVE IN GURRRRD"

I still don't understand how that take made it into the final cut.
Ask Talia's death scene, she'll tell you. :oldrazz:

The marketing for BvS has made me more interested in seeing a solo Batman movie with Affleck than the actual BvS movie. I expect him to be great and I think he has a shot at making the best Batman movie yet.

I might be fairly alone on that though, but I think The Dark Knight lives mainly on Ledger's Joker portrayal. I doubt a Batfleck movie will have a villain that's as iconic as that Joker, but I think it can potentially be a better Batman movie. I think Begins is the best Batman movie made this far (and Ra's is certainly not as memorable as the TDK Joker).

I totally agree, especially about Begins being the best Batman movie (though not the best film featuring Batman).

The problem with TDKR, for me, was that Nolan could've catapulted so many glorious scenes that script contained. He didn't seem to go the full ass with what he had.

The film set it all up for him and to me, it's like he rushed the editing process.

Do we have any idea how much screen time Batman will have fighting crime and going on missions? I real Hope we see Bats take down some thugs.

I only noticed the modulation in his voice while watching the trailer with headphones.

We've seen a bts pic of batman and a beaten down thug, not to mention the guy who gets branded, and batman fighting those guys in the CC trailer.

If you ask me, I feel that Nolan pretty much "phoned it in" in regards to TDKR...it was kind of clear in the years leading up to it that he was already over Batman and wanted to move on.

A testament to his abilities though that the movie was still pretty good.

^ THIS!!

I feel like with Begins, Nolan worked within the studio perimeters, with TDK, Nolan had full creative control, and with TDKR WB put a lot of pressure on him to make the film, so he did so, but without the same level of passion that he had for Begins and TDK.

And yet, TDKR is still an impressive bit of filmmaking overall.

Nope.

I'm not knocking the film at all to be clear. I'm just saying that there's many sequences where I found myself wondering how Nolan seemed to just overlook it.

The most glaring one for me to this day is in the Batman/Catwoman fight on the rooftop.

:30 thug on the far left...

Was this seriously the best take they shot?

This is one of many other instances where it really made me wonder whether Nolan really was 'locked in' or if he was simply just trying to get it all over with.

Because it was dark and it's happening so fast there was no way my eye would ever have picked that up. Not disputing that maybe the guy should have been CGIed out of the shot, though.

I still love Catwoman's kicks in that scene.

Death ? She's not dead, she was tired and nodded off.
