C. Nolan's Interstellar - Part 2

That scenery looks amazing. I smell an Oscar nomination for Cinematography in this films future.

So I saw Dallas Buyers Club in Toronto last week. If there's really any doubters left to McConaughey and his acting abilities, this film should abolish them, because he was ****ing incredible in it.

I gotta see his recent string of good films like Killer Joe and Mud, but my God, there better be an Oscar nomination in store for him.

After A Time to Kill, We are Marshall, The Lincoln Lawyer, Killer Joe, and Mud, how can ANYONE doubt McConaughey's acting talents?

If there are, they would be very few. I just love how he's back.

Seriously though, once Dallas Buyers Club gets a wide release, I highly recommend checking it out. Jared Leto's performance is also Oscar worthy.

Same, I don't see anything in that news piece that wasn't in the old draft.

Thanks to Dragon_316ca who posted this on another forum.:up:

Imagine this in IMAX.:woot:

Iceland just looks so pretty! :woot:

What are the chances of us getting a trailer for this at the end of this year, like November or December? I think it's highly likely, since teaser trailers usually come out a full year before the release date.

If so... Woohoo! Trailer in only 2 months! :wow:

Not always. Except for the Comic-Con footage, there have been no teasers for Godzilla, X-Men, Spider-Man etc. Those come out much sooner.

Generally Nolan movies are the only films that get a teaser a year before release, and IMO that's the best way of doing it. So yeah I think it's likely we'll get something this November/December. If not then with Transcendence

So, judging from posts on David Gyasi's Facebook and set reports from various other Nolan-nerds, it looks like this is our space crew:

Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, David Gyasi, Wes Bentley and Bill Irwin

-Cooper
-Brand
-Tars
-Roth
-Case
-Doyle

I wonder what David Oyelowo and Casey Affleck have been up to...?

EDIT: I just remembered that Tars has no scenes on the ice planet (none that I can recall anyway). So Affleck could be playing him. That means that Damon's role is a new character..

Shame there hasn't been any pics of the Iceland shoot. :(

Anne is done with the shoot in Iceland it seems. She was seen in LA on Saturday.

Yes, filming in Iceland was only supposed to last 2 weeks.
Now they're shooting in a studio in LA for the next 3 months.

Photos of Anne, Matt Damon and Bill Irwin with a staff member of the hotel they stayed at in Iceland.

They have Trader Joe's in Iceland?

Nice!

I still can't believe Matt Damon is in this. Is he getting top billing, or is this just a cameo like Michael Caine in Inception? Or is it a "surprise"/uncredited thing?

I just can't believe he wouldn't have top billing. If he doesn't, I imagine the posters might have "and Matt Damon" like they did with Morgan Freeman.

Thanks for the info, James.

Very nice pics there, too. Where did you find them?

I hope they get Zack Hemsey for the teaser/trailer music.

Like always with Nolan films these pics give us zero information about any plot but is intriguing as hell

Those cranes equipped with the monster Imax. So cool.

Good. I need to see moar filming pics from this. I googled 1525 Industrial St, Los Angeles and it came up with Union Central Cold Storage. Maybe that's where Anne's icy Mr Freeze boots come into play? :hehe:

Hans Zimmer talks Interstellar-http://collider.com/interstellar-score-hans-zimmer-dark-knight-trilogy/

“At the back of my mind constantly I’m inventing stuff for Interstellar. Weirdly I’m a bit ahead on that one. Circumstances beyond my control, I wrote [Nolan] a main theme in January while he was writing… There’s a tune, there’s a theme there.”
“We had this sort of conversation about—you know nine years we spent in our Batman world. The textures, the music, and the sounds, and the thing we sort of created has sort of seeped into other people’s movies a bit, so it’s time to reinvent. The endless string of sonatas need to go by the wayside, the big drums are probably in the bin. So right now it’s sort of the time where I’m pondering what else we can do.”

“Chris feels the same challenge, ‘Let’s do something new. We have something to say.’ He really has got something to say, there’s a solid backbone to this thing and it’s an important story, and we want to tell it in a way that nobody else has ever done. And the same goes for the music, of course.”
