The Winter Soldier Captain America 2: News and Speculation - - - - - - Part 19

Wait, is Hail Hydra really part of that?

Yes. :csad: Even Marvel noticed that Stephen seems to have joined the enemy. They've asked for Cap's shield back, which was given to the Colbert Report back in 2007. Personally, I believe that Stephen has bravely gone undercover to destroy the enemy from within. :ninja:

Stephen Colbert: Agent of Hydra?

Noooo! Not Stephen!

He isn't REALLY part of Hyrda. He's leaping away from the "Hail Hydra." Don't you understand deep symbolisms? :o

"greatest of all time" is a bit strong, but he's a solid artists, no matter your thoughts on the guy as editor.

Still pissed that Evans never showed up on Colbert to take the SHIELD back
probably too late now, with Colbert going to CBS, but maybe they'll play up the Hydra thing tonite and have Evans finally take it back (although, he's where, England right now?)

Quesadilla should've never dropped the pencil.
He's a horrible editor, but he was more than an okay artist.

Oh absolutely. I love his work. But 'one of the greatest' sounds like somebody sucking up to the boss lol

Anybody here aware of the prints made by the "Poster Posse" with Blurppy?
Here's one I was able to get. :word:

Kevin Smith has a podcast called Fatman on Batman. The latest episode is Fatman on Cap, man. He basically gloats about the entire movie, but it's fun to hear him discuss the entire movie with Joe Quesada.

Sweet, I'll listen to it tonight. I love Fat Man on Batman.

Where can I download this podcast? Btw, I know both Kevin Smith and his "Hollywood Babble-On" co-host Ralph Garmin (who is a huge Batman fan and is writing Batman 66 for DC) are fans of TWS. Glad to see a couple of comic geeks loving this movie.

Here's a random question/thought:

After talking to Sitwell on the roof and they're in the car, Winter Soldier lands on top of the car (and then well, [BLACKOUT]Sitwell gets thrown under the bus...... or truck as it turned out[/BLACKOUT]). My question/thought is: from where did Winter Soldier come from? The Humvee that his goons are in was further back on the street and didn't approach until later (unless they drove up, WS hopped on, then they dropped back a couple cars before revving back up to rear end Falcon's car all in, what, under a minute?) Was WS perched somewhere above waiting for their car? Was he hitching a ride on the hood of another car/truck?

Just a weird random thing that popped into my head today as I was thinking about the events of the movie and usually a sign that I've been thinking about the movie WAYYYYYY too much :oldrazz: :funny:

Thinking back to the photos/videos of the production it seems to me that a shot/scene might have been edited out of that sequence that made it clearer.

There are spy videos of the causeway sequence that may show the Winter Soldier atop another vehicle before jumping onto the roof of the car that Cap & co. were in. Or it could just have been shots of him on top of their car. You'd have to search for the set videos to see for sure. At any rate, it's plausible that WS jumped from the mooks' SUV and the directors simply didn't show it a) to heighten the shock of Sitwell's demise and b) because they assumed that the audience would understand what happened.

I have another odd question about Sitwell and HYDRA that goes back to events in TA and Item 47.

In TA, Sitwell was on the bridge of the Helicarrier during the attack led by Barton. He heard Fury order Coulson down to the detention area to lock it down and make sure that Loki was secure. We all know that Coulson went in without backup and was subsequently murdered by Loki. After watching TWS I wondered whether Sitwell and/or other HYDRA loyalists on the Helicarrier might have made sure that Coulson was alone when he went to confront the Asgardian Mussolini. That isn't out of the realm of possibility since Coulson was Fury's trusted "good eye." HYDRA would want him out of the way. In Item 47, Sitwell seemed to be feigning sympathy when Agent Blake mentioned losing Coulson. He definitely wasn't all that broken up about Coulson's death. It's not that much of a stretch to think he might have done a little something to make the other agent's demise possible.

^^ I wondered about the WS jumping onto their car scene too but yeah, it's likely the humvee either drove close enough to let him jump and then quickly backed off or he jumped from car to car to get to them. The second option might have been an unnecessarily risky thing to do considering the random people in their cars could've panicked/braked when they heard something heavy land on top of them.

The bigger question I have to ask is, considering how grenade-launcher happy the WS was, why did he go through all the trouble of jumping onto their car instead of simply shooting at them as they drove by in the humvee? They must have gotten close enough to confirm that it was in fact Cap and Black Widow in the car so I'm not sure why they all didn't just start drive-by shooting. I'm not really complaining because the whole scene was just so cool (Bucky flying off and skidding down the pavement is probably my favorite shot in the movie) that I don't even want to analyze the logic behind it too much... Still, it's something that's bugged me a bit. :funny:

Rule of Cool: The limit of the Willing Suspension of Disbelief for a given element is directly proportional to the element's awesomeness.

Maybe this was the Winter Soldier's reasoning too. Assuming the Hydra goons ever argued with him about it in the humvee. :woot:
