But Batman DOES see her close up and long enough to notice her lips, and he would also see Selina Kyle's lips from a close proximity as well.

Wouldn't it make more sense to just get a different actress with less recognizeable lips? I really can't understand why so many people are clinging to the idea of Jolie playing Catwoman.

So you're gonna tell me that you couldn't tell this woman:

You need to get off the hate of Jolie and realize her "mouth area" is not even the problem. It's been fully pointed out months ago, but you still for some reason decide to bring it back up. No matter who you cast, if they use that mask for the costume, you WILL still be recognized by friends in reality.

Having "recognizable lips" is the most ******ed reason to not cast someone. Honestly, I'm not kidding. And frankly, I used to think Bale's lips weren't that noticeable either, until I saw the movie. Everyone did keep saying how his lips moved automatically made it obvious Batman and Bruce were one. But hey, it's a movie so I couldn't really give a damn.

And so freakin' what if Batman is the one that sees both Selina and Catwoman up close. It's not like it's a mystery in the comics. Batman knew who it was after a very short time of meeting Selina. And again, if you decide to bring it up, I will simply point back to Batman Returns, and let that whole movie explain for itself. I refuse to go in detail again of such a ridiculous argument.

And even though I wholeheartedly support Jolie for this role, I no doubt have other actresses in mind. For example, Charlize Theron and Rosario Dawson are close seconds for me. After that, I'd have a complete unknown because no other actresses imo have what it takes to do the role justice. But, I seem to remember mentioning this to you before, but again you bring it up. Whatever..

Batman knowing Selina is Catwoman adds to the drama. He loves Selina as Bruce, but knowing her as Batman he knows he can never be with her.

Timstuff.....seriously....lay off the haterade. You keep arguing about Angelina's lips but we've stated many times that Bale's lips aren't exactly ordinary/plain. Batman (along with one or 2 villains) are the only ones that Catwoman is gonna let within 5 feet of her so there's no need to worry about some average person recognizing her. She's a burglar...her job is to steal without getting detected. If there's any problem with Jolie as Catwoman, it's not her lips.

Well, in this I have to agree with BK. But then my problem with Jolie has never been with her look, but her recognizablity as an actress. In otherwords, will she be able to be lost in the role the way another lessor known actress can be. As BK can attest I have never denied the appeal of a Jolie. But I just don't want a repeat of the star factor in previous films. And, unlike Bale as Wayne/Batman, I feel people will see Jolie/Catwoman and not Selina Kyle/Catwoman.

Just my feeling on it.

That is my truly biggest knock against Jolie. Too much baggage. And don't bring Michael Cain or Morgan Freeman into the discussion. They are good enough actors that no matter how well known or respected they are they manage not to get bigger than the films they are in.

It's understandable to think that Jolie's popularity might detract from the rest of the cast but if you watch Alexander then you'll see that it IS possible for Jolie to star in a film without being the center of attention. She was even one of the most important characters and she still didn't take away from the more important aspects of the movie.

Actually she was knocked around by the critics quite a bit. One was why she chose a british accent, being an US citizen, which added to the overall confusion of varying accents throughout the movie. But I think her overall performance was accepted. But then it's easy to shine when you're the only silver lining in the cloud.

Except there probably wouldn't be anything to report on if she's cast. Her big spotlights are only a few really: Billy Bob, Pitt, and her crazy sex life. Other than that, she's been pretty low-key for her film roles and she doesn't overtake them. I doubt we'll be seeing any Bale/Jolie romance stories. If anything, I'd say Caine would be the one doing the publicity with her. Ol' Alfie still got it in him me thinks.

Well one thing I think we all aren't considering is the time frame. Two years is a ways down the road and a lot can happen in that time. Of course there's the possibility Jolie just might not want the role when offered or have scheduling conflicts.

I sure hope Jolie gets the role !! She was BORN for it! All the right looks and attitude for Catwoman!

Even though Angelina would be perfect, she'd never be catwoman. And though she's beautiful (but not in Angelina's league), Kate Beckinsale just isn't talented or charismatic enough to be Catwoman. Catherine Zeta-Jones looks the part but is noticeably older than Bale. There are currently no American actresses in their twenties who can take on the role and be great. So the only real choice for catwoman is Charlize Theron. She has the beauty, body, brains and talent needed for the role. A close second would be Eva Green (from Kingdom of heaven). Eva would also make the perfect Talia.
