Chapter 44 - "The Eclipse, Part 1" - Discussion Thread 11/17/2008

You brought up Lost first... sounds like you might be jealous that Lost actually got its act together and stopped sucking to high heaven, unlike NBC's answer to Lost, Heroes.

"Supernatural" kicks the crud out of both those shows, to be honest. :woot:

How about we start talking about Heroes and not Supernatural, or Lost, or Smallville, or whatever other show comes to mind. We have Misc.TV for a reason. Take it there.

Only problem with that is that the future has changed 2-3 times since S1. So its pretty hard to write a comic book when you died in S1 and so much has changed since you had your last vision.

maybe or maybe that our heroes are hitting key beats regardless and its unchangable that in 5 years- now 4 the heroes world will undergo a catastrophe. Maybe thats what the entire show is leading up to, an inescapable doom.

Fair enough, Matt.

So was it explained how Hiro's mind was reduced to that of a 10 year olds?

If Isaac is still alive I would even prolly be done with the show. I'm fairly certain when your brain is removed you don't go on living.
tho linderman could have been involved...he could of been on sceen and healed isaac as sylar was killing him......so isaac would of been like clare in this season.

I wonder if the writers actually plan on explaining all of this or do they think they're just that cool that they can get away with not explaining **** to us.

I'm watching right now via Hulu and one pretty big plot hole jumped out at me. Matt and Hiro have never met. I think they were in the same room once at the end of season 2 (and literally minutes afterwards Parkman was teleported to Africa, without ever having spoke to him). How does Parkman have Hiro's phone number like they were old buddies and how does Ando know Parkman's address?
Matt mentioned that Hiro's number was in his father's file or something like that. Pay attention:o

What I find to be more amazing is that no one took ten minutes to glance through the full comic and instead only turn the page when the plot warrants they be looking at that certain page.
Now that is funny. Why not just turn to the last page:huh: But they need to do what each page tells them to do so that they can get to the last page I guess...

well they should release the comic for real each month with a page by page telling of each Heroes episode that month. I promise I'll only turn to each page as the episode/scene warrants. :woot:

Totally agree this show is heading towards an inescapable doom.....

“Is Claire the only person with the catalyst? After all, the formula was used on Nathan, Tracy, and Niki years before Claire's birth. Since it has to be stored in someone's blood, doesn't that imply that someone else has or had the catalyst?”

Yes. Yes it does. Who was that person? The answer is in Episode 12 – titled “Our Father,” written by the indomitable team of Adam Armus and Kay Foster.

The Catalyst is the Haitian :O

What was up with Elle in the car rental place?

One moment she's sorry for helping turn Sylar into a killer and the next she's putting him in a situation where he might have to kill that sales guy.

ummm does anyone have a screen with HRG and his sniper rifle?

I feel the same way about that event. It made the previous two episodes' characterization of Elle entirely pointless. Not to mention a whole season worthy of Sylar development (especially if they turn back now). But, how can we really expect consistent characterization now?

I was in the middle when it came to Elle this episode. I enjoyed her totally but it felt weird with her talking Sylar into killing and then going after Claire and HRG. I was expecting Elle to possibly try to look after Claire and keep her out of harms way and possibly turn on Sylar. And just seeing her making out with him was weird since her dads death is still fresh in my mind.

Supernatural is on the cw it can't be good.

Ahh but it was on TheWB first...

I think maybe everyone should watch the episode again before asking questions... or pay more attention the first time, please.

Mohinder changed back because the mutation was a by-product of his powers. powers gone... mutation gone.

Parkman never called Hiro... so if you didn't hear him say how he got the number, how did you know to ask?

I think there are definitely some continuity problems with the eclipse... chalk that up to desperate writers.

I think the blossoming love stories are weak. They're turning a super hero series into a soap opera. :meanie: It might have worked if they had developed it more. You cant just have characters fall in love in one or two episodes. But again, the writers struggling.

I sure hope they sort this mess out soon.

Something about Heroes makes me feel like the writers are just making everything up as they go with no plan what so ever.
