Chapter 45 - The Eclipse, Pt. 2 - Discussion Thread 12/02/08

So what the hell happened to hiro when he went into the past and saw an eclipse? He didn't loose his powers? What about past eclipse wouldn't Angela and Arthur have known about this eclipse phenomenon?

But I did like this episode. At riduculous as it might have been. I love seeing 10 year old hiro take out sylar and elle. Pure Win.

There is no confirmation Elle is dead. While it may appear that way, I am not so sure. Last time Sylar started to even scratch her head she fired electricity everywhere and screamed like a banshee. This time...a few little whimpers. Even the sound of his "slicing" wasn't the same as it has been. Obviously she could indeed be dead, and thats not a big deal. She was boring me anyways.

As to nothign happeneing from the eclipse, did any of you actually watch the show? Oh I get it. You wanted cataclismic consequences instead of subtle changes. Whahh. Whahh...Heroes isn't doing exactly what I want it to do. Whah!

From the eclipse, heck this season in general, we have vastly more info about the pasts of the characters. The eclipse provided a great connection between Parkman and Daphne, which will lead to the future between them. We saw growth in Peter, learning to be a hero without his plethora of abilities as well as an explanation of just how much he wants to be a hero. We saw Sylar show even more how unstable he is. In the end, it appears he is a killer to the core.

I'm really not seeing what the problem is. I'm loving this season.

^I read somewhere that a blonde will die, i'm pretty sure she is dead. I honestly didn't think she deserved what Sylar did to her. To me this show is starting to get perdictable.

He got a lot further down her head this time then he did last time. Either way it makes me mad how helpless they made her. She was suppose to be the opposite of Claire. Claire hated her powers, Elle loved her powers and who she was. Now they tried to turn her into Claire 2.0

I normally defend Heroes. but I'm sad to say I thought that episode kinda sucked. It was all just far too predictable.

quite frankly I'm sick of Sylars back & forth good/bad bulls***. If he's gone bad again, friggin stay that way. I don't want to strike up this big feeling of empathy for the guy then have them change him again & again & again. Elle's dead but meh, her character has become useless & boring anyway, she made Sylar all angsty & weak. Hopefully Sylar can stop getting ***** slapped by every single person he meets & actually start fighting back now. As for the rest of the hero's & villians, good god is this boring, we get it, peter is super nice & good & nathan is corruptable & weak, we've known this since season 1, big deal. Hiro needs to get his memory back & fast before I kick in my computer screen & Claire needs to stop this angsty, "your never around when I need you" crap. Does this chick ever grow up & grow a pair?. Anyway that is all.

I will, however, not condescend upon those who feel that they liked it. We all view things a little differently. Just because I see something else than what you see, it doesn't mean what you saw was wrong, or somehow misguided.

That last paragraph was just a pre-emptive strike against the Negative Nancies in here that would use my first paragraph as some kind of affirmation for their a-holeness in here.

Though predictable I did still enjoy it, I would have hope Peter got his powers back due to the eclipse, Seth and Breckin were a breath of fresh air. Elle dieing was a bummer but oh well **** happens. I hope we get the all out battle that we all really want next week.

Going by past examples, I reckon the blonde they were talking about was Claire.

Claire did technically die. I don't think Elle is dead. Hiro has the comic book and he would not knowingly put Elle in a situation where she dies because that is what upset him at the comic book store. I guess we will see next week.

I'm just about done with Heroes, the storylines just suck right now, I'm so sick of Sylar's back and forth between redemption and back into evil. The producers can't even keep their own history straight, considering I think everyone was already exhibiting powers before the "first" eclipse, so this one shouldn't have done anything. Everything that made this show good in the first place is gone. It's obviously being written week by week with no thought of a greater plan, which is really needed for a show like this. Sad to see the best new show of 2006 get so bad so quickly.

I hope Chaseter's logic about Hiro not purposely putting another in danger is correct, Elle's growing on me... she'scaniving (sp?) and mysterious... every time I think I know where she stands or her motives are she flip flops

I thought last night's episode was utterly Smallvillian . Alot of parts were just plain laughable to me like the confrontation between Nathan, The Haitian and his Brother toward the end. Imo show has become a silly muddle . Arthur's character has been a pretty big disappointment. Ditto , on the Sylar complaints . Hopefully now he'll just stay bad and maybe Elle will go back to being the psycho from last season. Anyway I think as fans we're gonna have to ride it out .

So at the end of part one, we saw Noah aiming at Sylar while he and Elle were just starting to make out. In part two, they've already had sex and are still horizontal on the floor when Noah fires his first shot. Wha...? Why didn't he fire earlier? Did he want to allow Sylar the privilege of one last boink before killing him?

HRG's a perv. He enjoyed watching.

I enjoyed this episode. Except for the Sylar/Elle thing. I hope HRG wasn't lying when he said Angela and Arthur aren't his real parents. Did they have to kill Elle? I agree that she was a more interesting character last season but she's still one of the best in my opinion. All of my favorite characters are getting killed off

Hiro finally did something good again. I love that scene where he teleports everybody out of there.

Oh and Peter is really really really really really lucky to be alive. What kinda plan was that?

I like how they trick you with the summaries of the plot and the cast. Larter was in the episode summary but didn't appear in the episode. Same goes with Claire's mom...everyone thought she would die because of the casting summary. They have done a good job keeping spoilers under wraps except when the cast say something they aren't suppose to say. Reading spoilers just cheapens the show...even more if you hate it.
