Chapter 47 - "Duality" - Discussion Thread 12/15/2008

Alright, this episode was good.... considering. The whole Sylar continuing to bring up the stupid retcons is tiring... the Nathan 180 wasn't done too well... Tracy living... Mohinder living...

2 things:

1. Obama isn't even sworn in yet!!!

2. This episode is 18 months after the first season. The First Season took place during the 2006 elections, that places this in May of 2008! We didn't even finish the primaries yet!

Did they wait to film that scene AFTER the elections? What if McCain won? Err!

This was a great episode aside from Nathan's awful personality change. I think in this episode, he became more ****ed up by the writers as a character than Mohinder, Hiro and Sylar combined.

Only until someone pulls the glass out of his charred body.

The explosion probably did that anyway. If not that, they'll find the body and take it out during the autopsy. Sylar has unfortunately gained God-like status...:(
Where's Thor's Hammer when you need it? :p

Or maybe it has nothing to do with Obama:huh:

So Ando will somehow give Hiro's powers back maybe? And we now another Star Trek reference, Worf (aka Micheal Dorn) is now president in the Heroes universe.
Oh, is that who that was?

I'm guessing that Micah may be back for "Fugitives" being that he was in the files.

Then nothing. This was probably just made to show the Heroes' writers/producers/whatever were Obama supporters.

When did they ever say that was presidant Obama? They didnt its just a made up presidant for the Heroes Universe.

I was really invisioning a lot of vs. in this episode. What use is it to introduce a charecter with ice powers and not have them face off against someone with fire powers? Some heroes facing off against Sylar (what happened to the Haitian?), someone going against HRG, Angela being badass..

Right....

He was a Black President. Does this take place in the same Universe as 24?
So any time any show has a black president it has something to do with Obama:huh: They had a white president in Season 1...then it must have something to do with [insert any white president].:whatever:

Claires Mom and Flint are immune to fire(thus why they can hold it in their hands). What they are not immune to is the rubble that falls on top of them.

There have been plenty of shows that have had black presidants, this in no way means that he was Obama or that the makers of the show are supporters of either mccain or obama. He was just a made up presidant.

But Chas, Sube.... we can all agree that it will be the Bush presidency that is going to have the undertones of season four.

Then Volume 4 will end with a show throwing:wow::woot:

I'm glad my theory about Daphne was right and she would be the one to use her powers to travel through time.

She's the female Flash.

And she's still alive... sweeet, a character introduced can have a chance to develop.

It was a good ep, I think that the black president very much represents Obama just to show that the times are changing. Im not complaining i think it was just an accurate portrayal of the time we live in. The show is trying to be a little based in reality. So yeah it made sense even though I voted McCain I thought it was a good idea. Sylar is alive and will be back, i hope Fugitives is done right and they don't just take down the powerful characters like nothing. That would be very annoying.

So... Any guesses on how Future Peter gets his scar? Especially since he can heal.

The ending was dreadful.

Apparently all you have to do is be a senator who's never around but briefly to give the pres a folder full of pictures, and he'll be immediately convinced to do your bidding.
