Chapter 59 - "An Invisible Thread" Discussion Thread - 4/27/09

And at this point right now, I have lost all interest in all the charecters..so sad.

so did anybody notice they essentially stole the unused ending to terminator salvation...the one that sucked and was met by huge fan backlash?

it's the plagiarism that hurts the most right now.

Thinking about it even more, Peter could've posed as Nathan to call off the program. He had absorbed shapeshifting.

No! That would make too much sense to these writers! :whatever:

Seriously, that would have been loads better if they just HAD to kill off Nathan.

Do you know how badly I was waiting for a Tracey (Ice) vs. Merideth (Fire) battle during villans?

OMG! That would have been so frakking epic! Both of Nathans girls facing off against each other.

But with Heroes they can cheat death with Claire's blood so what they did was no excuse

that would have worked in the short term.

but they need Nathan to be in the government at all times.

they cant just keep making Peter change into Nathan whenever they need to speak to the President or do a public speech.

People will ask Why dont we see you and your brother together haha.

What makes you say that ? No one cared to ask where the hell did Claire come from :o I'd like to see Nathan's ex meet Claire. She would not care either that Nathan has a kid that is not hers

I'm not saying that was only part of the solution. Afterwards, they could've created the death scenario for Nathan, removing the need to have him around.

I was extremely dissapointed with last nights episode. I'm not sure if it was that the show was just poorly written or I was still agonizing over the tremendous leap Chuck took over a shark moments before Heroes finale started.

Another thing I did like aside from Peter out smarting Sylar was how they dealt with getting the Government off of the Heroes back. No time travel or memory erasing just two brothers & one publically owning up to his mistakes in front of the Secret Service & two brothers risking their lives to save the President himself. At least they did not do any weird thing with getting the Government off of their backs

Season Two >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Season Three

Season Two is so underrated. Go back and watch it, I did recently and it is so much more enjoyable then I remember.

I would have rated this Volume higher then Volume 2, but not anymore. Volume 2 was enjoyable even if it was a let down, but this Volume is beyond a let down.

I honestly don't care about this show anymore.

Lol well the next volume is ironically named 'Redemption' so there may still be hope.

well whatever with what show rules the writers hold themselves too, but I personally feel these writers just blatantly steal material.

Volume 1: Watchmen ending
Volume 2: X3 Last Stand cure theme
Volume 3: Brundel Fly with Suresh
Volume 4: Terminator Salvation unused ending and the whole nosebleed brain aneurysm with time travel that was just a big plotpoint on lost not 2 months ago!

It's like they read an article online of a story that created a lot of controversy because IT SUCKED and then just stole the idea.

We're just going to have to accept that there are ALWAYS going to be inconsistencies when it comes to how everyone's powers work. Sometimes Sylar could just shapeshift his body, and had to wear the clothes of whoever he was replacing, sometimes he could shapechange the clothes, too (which is just profoundly stupid.)

Actually, abilities on this show evolve over time. Especially when it's an ability Sylar takes because he has proven to be more adept with the abilities than the people he takes them from, because of his power of understanding how things work, Intuitive Aptitude
This has been consistent.
At first, he consistently could not change the clothes too.
Then, once he did it, he consistently shifted his clothes too.
James Martin never got good enough with his shape-shifting to shift his clothes, too.
Just like Brian Davis had trouble dragging the cup along in a straight line, at a constant speed, and now Sylar can use the very same TK ability to buzzsaw heads.

The "heroes stole something form another show/comic/movie/newspaper/chewing gum wrapper/what the ****ever....is just an annoying complaint to bring up anymore. Yes we know they took ideas from different shows.....like EVERY OTHER SHOW. Yes we get it they "stole" it. It's unoriginal. Find me a show that hasn't done it before or won't do it. Get it over it.

Lost

I'm a Lost fan but it has stolen many elements from other t.v. shows and movies. It is no exception.

yea, but i don't find myself hating Lost. They find a way to intelligently incorporate whatever they've taken.

The whole show is built on borrowed concepts from stuff like the X-Men so it's pointless to really whine about it now. The bigger problem is that they borrowed a flat out stupid concept in this case.

exactly.

The real problem for me is that I've tolerated the stealing for all this time and they added insult to injury and alienated the viewers tonight with that fight. They've been teasing us for 3 years with that fight and they didn't ****ing show it.

so now the staff are just a bunch of thieving cock teasers. I've had enough. Time to move onto a TV show that puts out.

I wouldnt say stolen as they havent outright taken whole plotlines from other sources as Heroes has. From the beginning, Heroes has been an X-Men ripoff. LOST, however, finds a way to respectfully incorporate aspects of books and film into their series.

Any show that has super powered people not already based off of something already out there is going to be compared to X-Men unfortunately.

word Gman. except the whole D.L. thing still pisses me off tho :cmad:

EXACTLY what I was thinking. This was a terrible way to keep Sylar around and just shows that the writers can't just let him go. All Peter had to do was pose as Nathan, call off the project then stage Nathan's death. Then Sylar would be gone forever...but no, he's already "back"
