Chapter 7: "Out of Time" Discussion 11/5/07

Sorry if this has already been discussed but...

notice painting 7/8 is the man with the gun (my guess Suresh)

and painting 8/8 is HRG shot through the eye

maybe the paintings are numbered for chronological order, and its not actually claire/west that kills him but the guy in painting 7/8.

Woah. Matt's cool factor suddenly shot up 999%. Learn Matt! Learn!

I know! I only wish he would stop being so lame about his super powers and man up! If someone told be I had the capability to control minds I'd be like "Sweet! How do I learn how to do that?" but Parkman is all "I don't know how! I can't do that..." Yadda Yadda

He needs to stop punking out and start being proactive with his abilities. I compare him to Clark on Smallville not even trying to learn how to fly...wtf is that about?

I think it's funny that everyone's like "Oh, if I had powers, I'd spend all my time practicing with them, and use them all the time and..."

Cuz, as comic book fans, we spend a lot of time thinking what we would do with powers (even if we don't realize we do)

But in REAL life, powers are freaky, and when you see stuff starting to fly around, you get freaked out because, despite how much you love superpowers, you know it's not REALLY supposed to happen...

And even when you do accept it, the consequences of your actions become very real and the fact that you don't have the discpline to practice your piano or lose weight, surprise, transfers to practicing everything else... if you're lazy with school, you'll be just as lazy with superpowers once you accept them... especially if you have no reason to use them...

And if you are dumb enough to abuse your powers all the time, and just practice practice practice so that you can steal money or whatever... then you will get caught, people will catch on... especially in a world where "The Company" exists, and you'll get your behind handed to you, for being so arrogant and disconnected with reality.

I'm GLAD Matt is a realistic character, and not a comic book archetype, who's main goal in life is to be an uber telepath.

And Matt's cool factor does not go up just because his power is bigger than it used to be. He's still an idiot, and he still should be dead.

Well i do find him more interesting now that i know the potential he has. Matt could be one of the most powerful heroes. And is it me or did Niki finally grow a pair when she told Bob she could be very persuasive in that preview clip. I hope she'll turn into Jessica again.

I've seen some complaints about the Season dragging so far.

But look at Season 1,things didn't really kick into high gear until the 7th or 8th episode. There was that one ep which just focused on Nikki and DL on his first appearance.

People are bound to feel that way with such a large ensemble cast.Personally,I love the different feel this show has this season, keeping things fresh and new is always good.

Yeah- I think this season is progressing much faster than last season- the big difference is that last year we had the 'big bomb' cliff hanger right in the beginning that we knew we were building up to. But as far as action goes, I think season 2 is way ahead of 1 at this point.

I still feel like its just one storyline too many. My problem is that the buildup isn't really there, its kinda flat, actually. The next episode looks the most promising, though.

Also, based on the preview clips, it looks like Matt will be the one dispensing the virus, which means that Nikki may actually meet with the real DL.

Love the clips, especially the one with the huge team-up. Team-ups have always been great, and now we have 5 characters all working together. How cool is that?!?

Heads up fellow Canucks...Heroes starts at 7pm on Global tonight.

Episode 7 highlights:

-Bob gives Nathan a history lesson,Adam Munroe was the one who banded the 12 together,he developed a God complex in trying to save humanity with Linderman being his most loyal follower
-West sees HRG enter Claire's house, believes it's all a trap and leaves Claire
-HRG gets pissed when finding out about West,Claire rebels and says that she will stay if HRG and the rest of the Bennets leave
-annoying ass Hiro, who is ultra annoying this episode again repeating the word Hero no less than 5 times, stands up against Kensei to try to bring out the good in him,a fight follows with Kensei apparently blow to bits
-after a good 5 minutes of cheesyness between Hiro and the princess,Hiro comes home to Ando only to find out that his dad is dead
-Company HQ gets evaquated when Matt and Nathan warn Bob,Mo and Nikki about Maury coming to kill Bob
-Maury gets into Nik's head the most, not knowing what to do,she inject herself with the virus
-Matt locks Maury in a nightmare and helps Molly escape in the process,Maury is defeated and being sedated
-Mohinder's blood is no longer the cure,Niki is f***ed and is anyone else who had the virus from now on,Bob vows to destroy what's left of it
-Peter goes back in time and finds his mother who makes Peter remember everything
-we learn more about the Sandra Virus which wipes out everyone,Nathan was one of its first victims
-Mohinder confesses to Bob about working with HRG,says he's morally confused,Bob tells Mohinder to round up Claire, she may help with a cure
-Mohinder,now with a nose bandage after being clocked by Niki,is offered a gun by Bob before he goes after Claire
-Pete returns to the present without Kate,he freaks out and fires a bolt at a hand that's directly facing him,the man heals his hand and introduces himself as Adam Munroe who ends up being none other than David Anders

Overall, pretty good. The scenes with Hiro were painful to watch.I understand the writers need to inject some humor into the show, but Hiro has become a pathetic joke."You need to be a hero!"...SHUT UP already Hiro. The departing with the princess was straight out of a b-level romance film.

The twist with Kensei/Munroe was a good one,I and many others called it months ago,but nonetheless it was a good twist and should make the future complicated.

Finished 10 min ago here in Canada :oldrazz: , boring episode IMO :csad:

There's a pretty interesting end though....

The spoilers are confirmed :down

KENSEI = ADAM MONROE

It held my attention with the exception of the Hiro scenes.

LOL @ the cheesiness (sp) factor that is Hiro and his feudal Japan story

Somebody's gotta straighten out that little crybaby ***** (Hiro)

I hope Munroe tears him a new one.

It was all Hiro's fault in the first place,so he should get some sort of punishment in return, the freaking annoying ass punk.

I'm asian, and I know a stupid asian when I see one,Hiro is one of those.

LOL!

Yep, Hiro's getting on everyone's nerves. Maybe it's time to kill him off?

seriously they ened to end this crap with Hiro in the past

Hmm, didn't think that'd be Suresh in the painting with the gun. But damn, just means he lives longer. :o
