Looks like Deadpool 2 will be Certified Fresh. So happy for Reynolds and the cast.

Nice. Have you seen it mate? I see it in about 5/6 hours.
whoa ...so DP will have the best avg RT score among the x-men universe (ie old trilogy, new trilogy, wolverine trilogy)...
Thats impressive.
yup..... not as good as the 1st one but still good enough.
They don't get the character but the film makers do. I always knew Reynolds and co would pull it off because you can tell that they get the character so well. People think he's parodying the genre but thats not what he's doing at all. Its why in Deadpool films you do have your standard comic book movie story, but the difference is that the dude knows he is in a comic book so he is able to reference other things and make note of that fact while also continuing along with his story.I've made a quick visit to Conrad's Twitter feed (never again), and both him and Robert Meyer Burnett are really trying hard to spin the overall consensus their own way, with Burnett lamenting that the movie doesn't lampoon its own action scenes.
And here comes a huge misconception I think people have about Deadpool in general (I've heard several complaints regarding the original movie, as well): what makes the character so special is that he's NOT a parody. This is NOT supposed to be what the Hot Shots! movies were to Top Gun and Rambo. He both sends up AND inhabits the comic book space. And among all the meta-humor there's always a sincere and straightforward superhero/anti-hero story underneath.
It has always been like that in the comics, and I'm glad the filmmakers picked up on that.
Im hoping for a John Wick 2 like scenario where its hard to decide which is best as one does somethings better than the other but compliment each other nicely.
Pleasantly surprised to see, so far, that people are generally digging this as much as the first. Was a bit concerned this wouldnt land as well as the original but some reviews are even going as far to say it improves on the first in some ways. I'm sure its not going win over many new people that werent fans of the original but then most liked the original so no biggy.
Can look forward to this now at the weekend a little more relaxed and without the worry of a major fall in quality.
And up to 85% now for those counting...

But Burnett is good friends with Tim Miller. It's not a surprise that he is acting the way he is.
Surprisingly, I know a lot of folks who hated the original, who actually really like the sequel.
I mean I loved the original and yea it sucked that he didnt get to make the sequel, but I also feel like maybe just maybe we benefited when we got David Leitch because then we got another take of the character we love. And I don't think anyone should try to undermine the work that Miller did on the original. It takes a team effort to get a film right. But at the same time, I really don't like the take that Burnett and co are taking about the whole situation because right now they're undermining what David Leitch and co were able to do with the film just because Miller didnt get to do the sequel.I see.
But you know, I AM a huge fan of Miller's. He blew me away with the original movie, and I've got nothing but affection for that guy. He's legit. And I was pretty pissed off about the whole situation when he left the project. I, too, think that he was a VERY important of the first movie's success, and not to be underestimated.
But when they hired David Leitch, they at least got a filmmaker who's just and great and interesting for the sequel, so I moved forward in the best possible way. And I genuinely can't wait for Miller's new Terminator movie. So it all turned out fine so far, I guess.
I'm honestly rooting for both parties. Don't know why you have to choose a side.
Didn't hate the original, but did seem slightly off from the zaniness I was anticipating. Glad the sequel sounds like it has it in spades.
