The Dark Knight Rises Details on Catwoman in TDKR

I had a thought today. Maybe she choose the profession of a stripper because she knew the kind of clients who would come into the joint. I can see that as a possibility.

Or ... is that too soon of a question (since we just got done debating about strippers being moral?)

Very good idea!

Yes, one of the origins of Catwoman introduces her as a con-artist.

Ahem. Nixon? I predicted this ten pages ago :cwink:

Well, glad we're thinking the same thoughts. Cause I haven't been in this thread since the little skirmish broke out.

Haha I hear ya, I finally had to come in and talk sense because it was getting to be too much :o

But anyway, I have a feeling that both Bruce and Selina will be tracking Modine's character, and that this will eventually lead Bruce to the gentlemen's club Selina works at. He'll see her, but whether or not he's encountered Catwoman beforehand will determine whether or not he deduces that Selina IS Catwoman.

I do like the idea though that Selina's "act" as a dancer would be the "Feline Fatale" :cwink:..good opportunity for some whip action

I'd love to see Selina use the whip for pulling people close to her.

But those are my thoughts about Selina being a stripper too. She hears the information from someone and they both show up at the same 'place' where their trail leads.

I'm not so sure..remember ChrisB's source said she comes from a troubled past, so she may be a dancer out of necessity or no perceivable choice at all. Then she hears something she's not supposed to hear from Modine's character and, finally having had enough and inspired by Batman's example she engages in her own form of vigilantism.

Of course, when she encounters Batman as Catwoman, I can bet there will be some antagonistic tension between the two. Catwoman could be enamored with Batman, which she'd show by almost incessantly flirting with him and Batman rejecting her advances, but on the flip side Bruce could be enamored with Selina. It could make for a very interesting dynamic in their arcs as love interests

Im not sure if someone said this already, but I would guess her stripper outfit would be the "catwoman" outfit.

I like the way you're going with this. It's like you're reading my mind. I'm just gonna let you talk.:word:

The question is will we see any actual cats in this film?

Haha, I have a knack for story. And when presented with pieces of a puzzle all you have to do is find the ones that fit together in the context of the story.

I doubt it. No basis to doubt on, just a gut feeling.

I always liked how Catwoman had a special pet cat in the West series, Batman Returns and the Animated Series. It's nothing big but it would be nice to see the same thing in this film.

I can't wait to see actual footage of Bale and Hathaway on screen together.

Same here, I'm interested to see if Selina uses her wit to charm Bruce. She could definitely break up the doom and gloom of the Bane sequences

Yeah, that one video of Bale by Wayne Manor with who I am hoping is Anne totally got me excited for some Bruce/Selina scenes.

Interesting report, Chris. If it pans out that Catwoman is indeed one of the best-written characters of the trilogy, it would put to rest the perhaps unfair complaint that Nolan can't do good women in his films.

its easier to writte characters like this. the same reason why X-men first class worked. Magneto's story. and the same reason why Planet of the Apes movie works.
to writte her is not the problem. the problem is to fit her in this big story with Batman and Bane and Miranda Tale. which we know the Nolan brothers know hwo to do.

IMO Catwoman is the easiest female character to writte for the batman movie.
