If they're big honkin turbines on an aerodynamic aircraft carrier... yeah, it would. The problem would be an energy source to turn those turbines fast and long enough, the aerodynamics are fine.

Okay they changed the shape. It still wasn't "realistic". And if comic book logic didn't translate to the screen then there wouldn't be any superhero movies. Green gamma men and armor powered by psuedo science are not reasonable and logical.

It's reasonable or logical to create a clean renewable energy source, because that's what scientists are working on right now. Hulk is significantly less plausible, but the core is, they had one premise and everything else reasonably and logically flowed like that. It's not like comic books where anything goes and it's still considered to flow. And even then, flimsy stuff like radiation doesn't work, even though it works just fine in comic books.

TBH none of the MCU films follows the comics...the idea isnt to mimic the comics but capture the spirit of the comics.

That's kinda awesome. Just the fact that you need to do math to show whether it works on it shows how plausible it is, imho. It's just a matter of lift rather than "how does this thing even hold together???"

To edit my earlier statement at the top of the page: I think T'Challa should already be crazy intelligent, but the herb makes him extremely sharp and able to apply it quickly, completely and without hesitation. It clears his mind, so to speak.

Okay, different subject: Fighting Style

How do you see T'Challa in action. I know we see him acrobatic, but how? Wu Shu? Capoeria? Spider-Man style?

How do you see T'Challa in action. I know we see him acrobatic, but how? Wu Shu? Capoeria? Spider-Man style?

With BP they have an opportunity to pretty much go to town on how he fights. In the comics he knows a variety of styles because Wakanda has it's own style, they had agents for centuries scouting out things in other nations where they could pick up different fighting styles, and when T'Challa went to the West for college he might have learned some things there as well. They can really do a number of things for him in the movie in terms of how he fights. I love capoeira, but part of me hopes that they don't have that just because that seems to be the go-to art for black fighters. I would love it if they brought in someone to give him a few moves from some martial arts that haven't been seen before, and there are a ton of them that can be found all over the world.

In terms of how he moves I'd want him to be someone that's really quick to the point of him being difficult to get a hit on unless you can grab a hold of him. Even then there's some cool grappling they could do with wrestling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and judo. A fight between him and Cap would be awesome in an Avengers movie. I think a trend would be that the Avengers have one on one fights at some point the way they did in the first movie. They are based on comics after all, and the whole "misunderstanding that leads to a fight" plot happens all the time in comics.

BP's fighting style...How about an exaggerated combination of Kali, Eskrima, and/or Zulu stick fighting maybe mashed with parkour or something.

Like Krav Maga maybe? I've read that that is one of the most efficient martial arts out there.

I can't remember seeing a guy do it in a movie but that move is associated with Black Widow. I would imagine he has his own martial arts that no one outside of Wakanda has seen before.

Agreed. Take something graceful like Tai Chi and mix it with capoeira and Brazilian jujitsu. I don't know how TF you do that but somebody should figure it out.... Orrrrr

Yeah. This guy is from Houston (where I'm from) and has been at it for a few years now. A friend of mine hipped me to him but I forgot about him until the discussion of unique styles came up in this forum. Slap a mask on this fool and let him do the stunt work in Black Panther. LOL.
