EVERYTHING Black Panther - Part 2

I'm glad Chestnut sent the tweet/made the Facebook post...at least it's generating some discussion on the topic again! lol

That being said, I'm not big on the idea of him playing T'Challa. I think he's fine for supporting roles in action movies, but a lead? I don't think he's that good of an actor. He seemed to find his niche in romantic comedies over a decade ago (The Best Man, The Brothers, Two Can Play That Game, etc.). He definitely has a presence, and the ladies love him...but to be the one to finally bring the Black Panther to life on the big screen? I just don't see it.

My vote remains with Chiwetel Ejiofor. However, I am looking forward to seeing how Chadwick Boseman does as the lead in 42. He may become my second choice.

And even though that ship has sailed for him, I'd like to see Wesley Snipes have a role in a Black Panther film...perhaps as T'Chaka. Just to reward him for campaigning so hard for a BP film all of these years.

I think it depends. If Phase III is as long as Phase II (2 years before Avengers 2) and if they want to put out a BP solo before A3 then I doubt it. But if Phase III is a little longer than sure

Yeah. I think Phase 3 has a good chance of being longer than Phase 2. And it's odd that Phase 2 is one movie shorter than Phase 1.

So, Morris just tweeted that Black Panther may appear in TA2 before getting his own movie.

Fan's tweet: Morris' tweet: Link to his twitter.

Interesting...veeeeerrrry interesting...

I mean phase III (possibly) let's say it does take place over 2 years. Just guesstimates.
Ant-Man (2015)
Im4 (2016)
Cap 3 (2016)
Thor 3 (2017)
Strange (2017)
GOTG 2 (2018)
Avengers 3 (2018)

If they want BP to come before A3 they definetly need to expand the timeline or start releasing 3 films a year

Chestnut is ruining whatever chance he had to play the role lol.

I'm guessing he'd appear as T'Challa before he becomes Black Panther in A2.

I doubt they are releasing IM4 so soon after TA2. Honestly, I doubt there will be an IM4 in Phase 3. I do see Strange and Panther being on the slate for 2016, though. Ant-Man might lead into Black Panther.

I found that odd too. That is a pretty big nugget of news about The Avengers 2, I doubt Marvel really wants it getting out at this point. Though, with TA2 filming early next year, I could see Joss wanting to get some casting done for certain roles.

Marvel changes stuff so much that it might not even happen for TA2. Not sure.

i was just about to say that. lol

Has anyone who tweeted from the role ever get it?

I agree! Morris...dude, if you really want the role, then shut up!!! lol

Didn't Jamie Foxx tweet about being Electro before the announcement was made official?

Well he definitely knows something's going to happen for BP. But yeah, he better stop talking about it haha.

This is my feeling as well. What is RDJ's contract status with Marvel/Disney?

And didn't I read somewhere that members will be coming and going during the course of these movies, just like in the Avengers comics?

I seriously doubt chestnut gets this role. Hodge, Boseman, And Edjifor are my top picks. I'm sure Marvel is looking in that direction too. Chestnut is just too old IMO.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's not actually up for the role of T'Challa, but his father. That would explain why they're casting someone so old.

Also, phase 3 might end up like this:

Ant-Man
Doctor Strange
Black Panther
The Inhumans
Thor 3
Cap 3
Avengers 3

Have no idea how all that would work. One has to go. I can see an Inhumans movie happening before Black Panther right now.

Yeah, its very possible he's up for a supporting role as opposed to T'Challa himself.

This kind of thing builds great buzz though. It's generic enough without giving away the guts of what they have in store for the character.

Morris is too young to play T'Chaka. Not to mention he doesn't scream "T'Chaka" at all.

I think his contract expires with IM3, but he'll certainly be in TA2. And he'll probably continue to play the character if Marvel wants him too.

Yeah, I think I remember hearing about the rotating roster for the team as well.

ejiofor chiwetel for panther.

Yeah, this guy would be 20 times better than Chestnut.

He actually knows martial arts, he's a respected actor, he can do a quality African accent and he's an expert at playing highly intelligent characters.

This! Whether Chestnut has been in discussions for the role or not, whether Black Panther will actually appear in Avengers 2 or not, at least conversation is being generated, and Marvel/Disney can once again see that there is genuine interest in the character.

The best person, by far, to play T'Challa's father is Djimon Hounsou. If anyone has seen Spartacus, then the guy that plays Deltori could play his father as well really good.

Ejiofor Chiwetel is good for Panther I think as well. Boseman I have to wait till 42 to decide. I wish John Boyega was a little older. Hes a great actor and can pull it off.
