It's not as important as Von doom but it's important.

Thankfully they nailed the Doom casting with Kebbell.

Well, didn't see the dad coming from a mile away either. Guess she's the adopted one or they both are. Who knows at this point.

Just looked up this guy on YouTube (mostly interviews, couldn't find clips of him actually acting), and...

I guess Morgan Freeman and Samuel L. Jackson were out of their price range.

Right. Because Samuel L Jackson will really go and star in FFINO made by Marvel's business rival Fox, when he is under contract for several movies for Marvel Studios. :whatever:

Samuel wouldn't even be able to sign on per the contract he signed with Marvel. That's why Jaime Alexander wasn't able to be considered for WW.

I was referring to the fact that he seems to have that kind of persona (wise old black mentor with a low voice), and thus seems like a low-rent version of those two actors.

It's also why people on this message board need to stop casting Idris Elba as John Stewart, as much as it might have been a great fit.

Exactly...as sad as it is...I'm pretty sure Idris is sewn up all nice and tight at Marvel.

Idris Elba and Benndict Cumberpatch consistently among the most popular fan casted actors.

He's really good, but flying under the radar for his whole career---maybe this will change that!

I hated the Kirby/Lee version of their father being a surgeon who lost his wife on the operating table and descended into gambling and alcoholism and who then later redeemed himself before giving his life for his kids.

I think it's better that he had something to do with creating a think tank responsible for creating the Baxter building.

The ultimates nailed that kind of improvement over the quaint 1960s narrative.

Why.

This just seems to take away from Reed's genius to me...

Non compete clauses? Common sense? Jaime Alexander saying it?

Take your pick.

Fascinating. For the first time in awhile, I'm interested how they are going to go from here.

Because they cast the Storm's father with a run of the mill character actor and maybe you're back on board?

Whatever.

I guess it goes with the run of the mill Mole Man actor and the run of the mill Doom actor.

BREAKING NEWS........

just announced they will be converting the movie to 3D !!!

Simon Kinberg

"...the thing that is most unique or defining about the new Fantastic Four is the tone. We’re approaching it in a much more realistic, grounded, science rather than science-fiction way. The playfulness or goofiness of those other movies is very, very different from what we’re trying to do, and that is true for the production design, the casting, the storytelling. "
Just what I was afraid of. Knee jerk reaction to the failures of the first two films causes automatic rejection of entire premise. I don't even know why I'm following this anymore.

Thank goodness they're getting rid of the sci-fi aspect of the Fantastic Four! :whatever:

We're following it because we can't look away when a head on train wreck is about to happen before our eyes.

With antithesis on the jerk part because that is all who seems to be involved with this one.

"Grounded and realistic, more actual science based and less goofy, more gritty...................... and then we'll convert it to 3D!!!!!

LOL

Everything about this is low-rent and then they decide to spend 10 mil to convert it to 3D----like all the tent-poles movies they are doing everything the exact opposite of.

Ha! Indeed. They're just trying to boost box office receipts and they need to squeeze every potential cent out of this failure in the making. Obvious cheap tactic is obvious.
