I haven't seen it. Does it at least do Doom justice?
Some people don't like the actor's performance (he does over use hand gestures)...but you have Doom in Latveria wearing a suit straight out of the comics, planning his destruction of RICHARDS!!!!!!!

I have watched some clips of it (and a trailer), and I honestly don't think it looks that bad. But I like Batman & Robin:hehe:

It will never, ever be released on DVD/bluray, right?

I like goofy movies too...so I personally like it a heck of a lot more than others I have heard talking about it on here do (but like you said, I also like BATMAN AND ROBIN, so many will say my taste is in question...but I don't care).

I doubt it will ever be officially released. I have a widescreen version that is a pretty good quality.

Just skipped through it. He really gestures way too much. It's worse than any Power Rangers performance. :funny:

Corman's Doom talks with his hands. Trank's Doom types with them. :o

At a sci fi convention.

I'd be interested in seeing it, but I'm looking online and am having trouble finding a high quality version. Hopefully I'll be able to pick up a copy on day.

In a perfect world FFINO will never be released, Marvel will buy out the rights from FOX, make a FF movie for phase 4, and then when that is released on blu ray there will be a special edition that has both Corman's version and Trank's version as special features :woot:
Fiege could have a commentary over Trank's version just laughing at the whole thing.

Will Stan Lee have a cameo in this? He could play a random, laughing guy with a suitcase full of money.

There is no way this movie is getting a sneak peak at any major conventions...not with all the hate already.

I think the last time Stan Lee was in a Fox Marvel film was Rise of the Silver Surfer back in 2007. He continues to be in all the Spider-man and MCU films though.

Ah, okay:woot: You're probably right, I can't remember seeing him in the Wolverine or the new X-Men movies.

Oh yeah. Stick around. They'll show up.

And it doesn't matter what is revealed about the film. They will defend it to their last dying breath.
And that's usually what it sounds like....An incoherent mess of misinformation that may include coughing, faint breathing and drawn out pain.

Corman's FOUR is basically silly fun. It gets the basics right, but the execution is lacking, even beyond the budget/scale, and it really drags it down overall.

That new alleged synopsis is clearly an incomplete one if it's actually a synopsis of something real.

For one thing, it makes the movie sound like it's about four or five scenes long, and says nothing about character development, character dynamics, themes, etc. It's just sort of ticking off three or four story points, none of which sound particularly inspiring, but they're also not described terribly well. I'm always kind of skeptical of crappy script reviews like that. Even if that was a real script that was being reviewed, its not painting much of a picture of what the story and characters are actually like.

The idea of Reed being something of a savante...that's kind of interesting, actually. Seeing him grow into a driven, famous scientist after humble beginnings. And the idea of Ben originally having some control over his transformation, but evolving to a point where he doesn't...I don't hate that, either.

Not sure about Sue as a party girl. That angle makes sense for Johnny. Has Sue always been portrayed as a scientist, or was she more of a socialite originally?

Honestly if I were Stan's people I would talk him out of watching this film ever.

It would probably crush him.

Stan Lee: "this is nothing like the comic book I created all by myself in 1922! What's it called again? Oh, yes, the Beastly Bat-Man. Sam Raimi drew the first issue. Anyway, where's my money, honey?"

:csad:

Take this with a mountain of salt, but apparently someone who read the script says this is the plot.

Reed is a genius convenience store clerk with Ben. Reed's parents don't care about him, and Ben's dad is abusive. They're good friends and have each other's backs. Reed writes a paper for community college on teleportation that attracts the attention of Dr. Franklin Storm, CEO of the Baxter Building research center.

Storm has a son, Johnny, and an adoptive daughter, Sue, whose father, Storm's old partner, died in an experiment gone wrong. Johnny and Sue are party kids, and Sue is particularly disdainful of science. Reed and Sue don't get along at first.

Victor Doomashev is a anti-social Eastern European computer programmer and hacktivist who calls himself "Doom". He hates the 1%, particularly Storm, whom he claims corrupts science for profit.

Storm uses Reed's paper to complete some equations on a machine to access another dimension, the N-Zone. Reed invites Ben to watch the machine being turned on. Sue and Johnny are also there. Doom manages to hack into the Baxter Building's servers and use a computer virus to damage the machine, which explodes. Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben are exposed to otherwordly energy and become mutants with powers that they can't control.

Storm takes them to the Baxter Building and creates containment suits for their powers. They begin to train. Reed and Storm also begin developing a way to revert the accident. Sue blames Reed for everything, but they eventually become friends and then a couple. Ben can switch off his powers when he's not in danger. Johnny changes colors based on heat intensity, and Sue has some borderline telekinetic thing. Reed is pretty much Reed.

Doom finds out that the four have acquired powers and becomes angry it's not him, so he comes up with a plan to break into the Baxter Building to access the N-Zone through the rebuild machine. As a distraction, he reprograms a bunch of stolen military drones, the "Doombots", to attack the building. The four come together as a team for the first time and save people.

Doom activates the machine and gets technopathy powers or something, basically energy blasts and making machines obey to him, and a fight ensues. The machine goes critical, and, in order to prevent it from exploding and destroying the city, the four push into it and Storm shuts it off.

There's a countdown before it reaches critical mass. Inside the N-Zone, the four battle Doom again, and manage to leave him trapped there after he disfigures himself soaking up too much power. The Four manage to escape, but Ben gets the blunt of it to protect Reed and can't switch back.

The machine is destroyed, Doom is gone, the four have learned to work as a team, and Reed vows to find a cure for Ben. And it ends there.

That's just lazy and stupid enough to be true, unfortunately. If this is actually the plot I hope everyone involved with this gets giardia.

Unfortunately, this sounds VERY plausible to me. I have been following this whole thing very closely and this synopsis fits nearly perfectly everything that is known . . . And while it's possible the author has been following this as closely as I have and crafted something that fits the known information I think it's just as plausible this is legit.

I had dismissed the 'game show' scenario because that didn't fit all the UFF details we had (such as the Baxter Institute).

I'd put it at close to 50/50 if it's real or not, but if you told me I had to put $1000 of my money on one side or the other, I'd go with 'real'.

Which is why I've been so bummed for the past several months. This is exactly the kind of crappy, UFF script I've been expecting.

If additional future information confirms this (as I suspect it might), there's no way I'd pay to see that pile.

And look how well anakin turned out on film :/ if the prequels came first I don't think he'd come off half as threatening

If the prequels were about an adult anakin fighting alongside adult obi wan in the clone wars like what was talked about in ANH then not only would they have been good, but we wouldn't need to rely on a mediocre spin off to tell the story of that star war. (Which was barely featured in the film's we got)

To say he overuses his hand gestures is an understatement. I guess it really is a lot harder to act through a mask than it would seem. It takes a certain caliber actor to be able to pull it off. That's the same reasoning they pulled Purefoy from V supposedly. The film is definitely a guilty pleasure though. You can get a very decent copy off eBay for next to nothing, and where else can you see "The Boy Who Could Fly" as Johnny Storm and basically become a cartoon when he "Flames on". Bwahaha

Yeah...I agree. This sounds just plausible enough to be legit.

This movie has a dragon ball evolution vibe all over it.
