thx mr. p

it sucks that all the Starks are getting effed over, and Robb haven't you heard "love will get you killed", deep down i know he's gona have to pay the price. i think they made it obvious. the Frays? they'll find out sooner or later

 nice pretty much a repeat of this season lol

so why didn't Arya go to Bravos? i mean is the "hit-list" for real or what

Not really a repeat of this season actually. It gets REALLY crazy for her.

And Braavos is very far away. It's across the Narrow Sea on the northern tip of Essos, which is where Dany is, just further southeastward. Dany is VERY far from Westeros right now, she's past Valyria right now.

There is a war going on, and it makes for sea travel for a little 12 year old girl VERY hard to get.

If you've ever played Dragon Age II, Kirkwall reminded me a lot of the description of Braavos. Just without the giant volcano.

And the hitlist is very for real, and will get expanded and some will be removed.

Oh c'mon... now I feel like a vague soothsayer. Actually, I kinda like it... :hehe:

Sansa's story doesm't seem to be going anywhere :down

In Season 2 she is a victim, but is learning finally how the world works. In Season 3 she has to learn how to manuever through it at a higher and higher level until....

well, you'll just have to wait and see.

Renly was better at uniting people but not ruling them. He has all of Robert's flaws, he's too trusting and accepting of people. Had he ruled, he would have had people plotting his downfall just like Robert. TV and Book Renly are different, book Renly was much more arrogant. He also never agreed with Cat to an alliance with Robb, he thought he could take King's Landing on his own and implied he would wage war on the North if Robb didn't bend the knee to him.

There is no perfect candidate for king. Stannis would survive longer because he wouldn't put his trust in people who don't deserve it. One of the things Stannis says in the books is that Robert should have scoured his court clean when he took the throne, namely getting rid of Varys and Pycelle. Stannis is the epitome of Lawful Neutral. He may be harsh but he is always just. He's also the only king [BLACKOUT]who knows his title includes "Protector of the Realm."[/BLACKOUT]

The Targaryens were defeated and exiled from Westeros, so Stannis is the rightful king.

You and I have debated the Renly and Stannis argument far too long. So, all I'll say is you really think Stannis doesn't trust people he shouldn't? Then how do you explain Melissandre. :oldrazz:

The way I see it, TV Renly is still book Renly, just puts on more of a facade. Renly thought he knew how to play the game. He thought all he needed was the larger army which is why he buddied up with the Tyrells.

You see, I think your blind love for Stannis makes you biased. Renly actually played the game very well. That's why he had all the allies of Storm's End and the Tyrells. Stannis using magic wasn't really playing the game, as most of the world thinks magic is gone. For example, I'm sure Varys would consider magic cheating.

She does have a hit-list. But she's also a little girl who wants to see her mother and brothers again. She's a little girl who wants to go home to Winterfe--

Well somewhere up north. ;)

Remember that pirate? What he said about the only one true God? He was right about that.

Let's just say Riverrun now, to her uncles and grandfather.

i like.

damn the Greyjoys for destroying Winterfell, how could you burn a place like that :csad:

What's Riverrun look like anyway? Big place?
Not particularly. It's not as large as Winterfell. It's on the fork of a river, which means it can really only be attacked from one side because it's triangular. It's very easy to defend it and they can hold out for two years in a siege.

It might have not been the Greyjoys, could have been the bastard that was leading the northern troops in seige.

Just because he uses her doesn't mean he trusts her. He'd still be fighting for the Iron Throne even if she didn't say he was the lord's chosen.

Renly was an ass-kisser to the Tyrells and just a piece they could use for their power grab. He had the men of the Stormlands because he was lord of the Stormlands. Stannis is one of my favorite characters but I know he isn't the best qualified king. Of the 4 likely candidates, he's only ahead of Daenerys who I think has streaks of Aerys' madness in her.

The only rules in the game of thrones are the ones you want to play by. If you're going to throw a stink about Stannis using magic to kill his traitor brother then what about Daenerys using it to resurrect 3 dragons?

I tend to consider using it to murder your brother worse than using it to create dragons which, given her invulnerability to fire, are her birthright. I disagree with your view of Renly, but let's not go down that road again.

If you think Renly was being manipulated by the Tyrells, I can't wait for the show to explore the rivalry/alliance of the Lannisters and Tyrells. Tywin and Cersei's different approaches to it will be fascinating.

By and large I find the sets of the show rather strange. Most notably King's Landing, which can't seem to decide if it's in a temperate climate, or in a tropical climate. The aesthetic is extremely inconsistent. Winterfell always looks like a hovel though.

I've noticed this as well. There are times when King's Landing looks like a city in the middle of the desert and there are other times when it looks like rainy London.

I thought the look it in 2.1 and the episodes where there are riots and Tyrion and Varys are touring the battlements looked perfect. In Season 1 it looked kind of dull and sun dried, but since moving the exteriors to Croatia, it has grown really striking for the episodes they can actually spend money on shooting in the streets of that city.

I'm glad they're going back for the third season.

Croatia? Interesting choice. It threw me off though.

I didn't realize King's Landing was a port city until the episode where they send off the princess.

He didn't murder his brother, he executed a traitor.

"Birthright" or not, her dragons will kill more people than Stannis' shadows. Let's get off this "magic breaks the rules" thing anyway; there are no rules.

So, i'm wondering. From what i understand, Stannis operates out of Dragonstone. So, who's holding the fort at Storm's End? Or did Stannis move his headquarters there?

There's a small contingent holding Storm's End. It's one of the strongest fortresses (probably the strongest) in Westeros.

Can anyone tell me the score that was playing when Dany was walking away with the dragons? It's the main theme but with a different tune.

EDIT: nvm I found it!
