What do you think will be the role Diggle has?Sort of Ollie's "Alfred"?

Ollie wasn't training to be Green Arrow... he was training for American Ninja Warrior! :oldrazz:

I surprisingly enjoyed the pilot. It was much better than what I was anticipating. The writing and acting aspects of the show were very solid (the lead and cast deserve a thumb's up), but the parkour and fight choreography easily stole the show. Very impressive debut, overall. I absolutely loved the final five minutes. I think the CW has a true winner here. This show has potential, but it's in the hands of the writers. Anywho, a great start.

Deathstroke!!! :wow:

As for Ollie's capabilities, it's not difficult for one to train him or herself into a force of nature without a sensei.

On the contrary, one cannot train himself to fight the way Ollie did by shadow boxing. With the DS mask plus Ollie's fighting skill I bet it will be revealed that Slade trained him on the island before they fell out.

I agree with you shadow boxing can not teach you How do to deal with a enemy reactions in a real fight

are they using the Luthor mansion, looks exactly the same.

I don't think he'll last long at all, but we shall see. Heck, I thought Maggie would've lasted longer on Revolution and I was wrong.

So, Dinah's dad... I wonder if he's going to be Ollie's Jim Gordon or Ollie's Captain Stacy.

Before I saw Arrow Pilot I was totally like...

Screw this show, I want Smallville's Green Arrow. I want Smallville Universe. I want Smallville spin-off. etc.

Then I saw that guy from The Gates and Dresdon Files was in this and former Green Arrow is on another CW show, so I watched pilot...just now on DVR and...

:wow: this show is bad-ass. I like everything about it so far. Smallville Green Arrow while bad ass at times is really more...cool, PG-13, super hero fantasy. This Green Arrow is complete bad ass and more R, or well, realistic. I give the pilot a solid A.

I'm thinking Captain Stacy type.

As for the subject of super powered beings, it can't hurt but I'm biased as a fan of the comics so therefor I want to see that world done in live action. I've settled for the Batman movies. It would suck to have to settle for this too. I'm a DC fan, first and foremost but they have to work on accepting their roots and not just half-assing it. The difference between powers and no powers for me is he difference between liking this as a comic book fan and liking this as a TV fan. It's The Avengers vs The Dark Knight for me.

So....you are saying since Green Arrow was in Smallville's universe, that this version should be done via Nolan's Batman trilogy?

I agree...

I'm certainly getting more of a Capt Stacy vibe from him.

As to including more fantasic elements, give them time. There's no reason to think they won't reconsider their stance mid-stream.(Especially if ratings begin to decline)

If they wanted fantasy/powers then they should have gotten the Smallville guy to play Green Arrow in a spin-off.

Oh, absolutely not. I love the Nolan movies but for the same reason I love Inception and Insomnia and Memento. They're good Nolan movies. As Batman movies they fall short. With Green Arrow I'm hoping it doesn't follow the same route because I am looking for those fanboy moments like in Marvel's features.

???? Why the hell are you guys complaining about the wig? It's supposed to be a wig......fashion police in full effect lmfao

:csad: but Arrow has no powers.

or does he, dun, dun, dun

Also the island that Ollie landed on seemed to be a base of operation for the league of shadows. He also seemed to get into a huge fight with Deadshot.

I agree with you I do not know about you but his Batman movies they fall short for me

Because his Batman movies missed one of the most important things that I like about Batman is a realistic figure, but in a world that is not realistic everything around him is crazy and unrealistic

Hey... I really liked this! CW needs to work on another DC character. Never understood why they tried Aquaman instead of Flash after both's respective episodes of Smallville. Even if it was Bart or Wally it still has awesome potential. Same for Booster Gold or Blue Beetle. I think it could be a really smart move for DC to get some more awareness up for characters through television instead of films first. They can connect the series and everything, it's actually quite awesome the potential they have to make some really great series

That right there. That is what I'm looking forward to. The show may not be any worse for lack of super powered beings but it'll lack a certain comic book-ness.

So... deal with the devil type arrangement for Slade being Ollie's mentor, the fishing boat finding him an orchestrated incident, with the League of Assassins coming to collect on the favour at some point down the road?

All I can say is that the preview made it seem like he snapped that guy's neck because he knew he was Green Arrow--in the actual show he snaps his neck because the guy knows...he can fight?

He also has no problem murdering numerous underlings, but then when it comes to actually killing the real villain, he lets him live? No reason to cross him off the list until he's dead.

Basically this version of Oliver Queen makes no sense, in the greater context of the Green Arrow mythos, OR in the context of the Longbow Hunters where he kills lots of people. He's schizophrenic when it comes to his motivations and choice of who lives and who dies. It's not only a bad adaptation, it's simply a bad hero in and of itself!

It was someone who knew about Ollie's Dad's dealings, which were the motivation to become Arrow. And they also fight the same. Putting two and two together wouldn't be that hard.
