It hasnt been renewed for a full season yet. Its subjected to ratings. But projected 20-24 episodes for season 1.

Only thing I don't like about huntress coming in is that Dinah isn't black canary yet.

I dont think Black Canary would appear anytime soon. If Ollie took 5 years to get to where he is, Black Canary needs at least 3-5 years to be the martial arts expert that she is.

ugh...no. She should already have the practice and become BC by the end of the season if not beginning of a season 2.

Kreisberg said that she'd become BC "not as soon as we'd like, but sooner than we think". I'm guessing anytime between now and... I don't know, maybe the end of S2, should we be so lucky to get an S2.

Thats what they said in the latest interview i posted. bcos the show is based on realism so the easter eggs like bc and merlyn cant get angry one day and become a martial arts master the next day.
One way in which they could accelerate the time is there would be a time skip.

As long as Dinah has a strong foundation in martial arts to begin with she can become the Black Canary by as quickly as season 2. In Batman Begins Bruce went from beating up inmates in prison to one of the most feared members of the LOA what looked like a matter of months.
