My critique of the show:

Overall it was good; nice setup, premise, acting, casting, storyline.

A lot of Oliver's character motivation seemed forced, maybe because the show was only 1 hour or maybe because writers were trying to quickly develop the character of Oliver/GA for unknown viewers. Whatever the case the monologuing was too direct and could have been better written.

Also, Oliver's personality seemed to switch unnecessary with speaking with Diana. Oliver came off as cold and troubled for the most part towards everyone even Diana in their first encounter. Then at the party he becomes all "Nolan-Bruce Wayne" for no real reason just to throw her off. That whole scene was an exact rip-off of Bale and Katie Holme's interaction in Begins. They should have just left Oliver as this dark guy that didn't want to be bothered instead of switching into a bratty, arrogant playboy for no real reason, it was really unnecessary. It was almost as if the writers said hey we've established him as this dark post-traumatic guy and now all of a sudden we are going to make him a *****e because that's what worked in Nolan's Bruce/Batman and we need to throw people off. Heck people were thrown off already because of the way he was acting.

I do like the setup though and backstory. The show has promise. I don't think it will go the soap opera route which is good.

I give it :up::up::up: out of 5.

That was a great start to the Arrow series and David Nutter did a great job. It's like watching a weekly Green Arrow live-action movie than a mere TV series. It can only get better after seeing the preview for next week's episode. I hope the ratings come out good this week, but I know there are areas that people can't watch it. It's going to take awhile for me to get used to the Stephen Amell version after 6 years with Justin Hartley as the Green Arrow of Smallville.

Espcially now that they are basically one in the same.

Really impressed with the pilot. I also like the idea of the list because it gives it an overarching story for the season. The action was also great. This is probably one of the best superhero pilots I've seen.

Also, batman/bruce should never appear on this show.

It's going to be at least 3 seasons before its cancelled. Great premiere

The pilot is awesome! It's great to finally have a superhero live-action TV program with plenty of action and fight scenes. I hope they keep it up.

they definitely lived up to the "bourne identity" action. Fight scenes were really well done.

Where smallville lost me was that they lost focus with 10 seasons. Ultimately you knew he was going to become superman and the show became about wanting to see that.

Here, he is already in costume so I'm hoping this show has a narrative that keeps a person interested and really builds on the oliver character.

CW looks to have at least invested in this show and seems to be supporting it. Hopefully the ratings come in.

Decent pilot, although the voiceover just seems unnecessary and forced sometimes. Especially when he was rescued at the beginning.

I'll hang around for a few more eps. It'll be interesting to see if CW starts mining other DC characters that aren't exactly major players. I'd still like to see a show revolving around Tim Drake's Robin.

The pilot was ace. It almost felt like I was watching the comic come to life. It just has that... Green Arrow feel to it if that makes sense? 'The Long Bow Hunter' seems to have been an influence stylistically. The voice overs, eh, there was no need for them and I think it would have worked better without them.

i completely forgot about the show. gonna have to check it out later.

So after watching Batman Begins With Arrows I quite liked it. It has potential but if they want it to keep going they're gonna need to beef it up to make it a little more snappy. Those last five minutes were a good hook in that regard.

I really liked the lead actor. I definitely felt the change in his character from before and after the island. I really believed in him and his mission.

It's nice to know that people are enjoying the show. Hopefully the ratings reflect that.

Nice to see the mansion used in the X-Men films getting put to good use.

That was Really good. I can't wait to see more of this series.

Such a great pilot. I don't really know about Green Arrow, did it stay it true to the comic, origin wise at least. He seemed a lot like Bruce Wayne.

Great pilot. Some parts did almost mirror ones in Batman Begins (Ollie sharpening an arrow ala Bruce Wayne sharpening a batarang, Laurel's reaction to Ollie's return, Laurel being an attorney, the converation near the end with Ollie and Laurel, Ollie getting the jump on Adam Hunt, etc.), but other than that, it had enough of it's own stuff to make me really get into it.

Stephen Amell seems to have a real likeablity and charm to him. And I like that he's not just brooding all of the time. You can tell in those scenes that the gears in his head are turning when he's trying to figure things out. And his expressions in certain scenes (like his "I blew it" face after Laurel walks away after his "debauchery" talk) really say a lot about what he's thinking in that moment.

I really enjoyed the fights in this, as well. There's not too much well-choreographed action on regular television (Person of Interest being one of the exceptions), so it's nice to see the folks behind-the-scenes put in the extra little effort, particularly with Stephen Amell doing the majority of his own stunts. I also appreciate that the one thing that brought Smallville down for me (the poor CGI) is nearly nowhere to be found here.

If the creators of this show play their cards right, this could most likely end up surpassing Smallville in quality.

VERY good pilot. Hope Arrow stays as I now have my Wednesday nights planned out television-wise. Hate to say it, but the CW has given me another reason to watch the network besides Supernatural now.

Great start, I'm looking forward to the next few episodes to see where the show goes.

Great pilot but man was this like Batman begins! I plan on watching it because I liked it but they relied heavily on Nolan's Batman for inspiration.
