Help: Dumbest Batman Movie Moments

back to the funeral procession in TDK. if there was a threat on the mayor's life after the commissioner has just been killed, a judge has just been killed, and the DA had a threat on his life, why would you continue with the procession, especially outdoors? They can have a memorial at anytime...they could wait till all the chaos in the city died down; i mean they should have been focusing on that anyway.

All of Batman and Robin.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I don't think there was a single smart moment in Batman and Robin. It was doomed from the start with the "This is why Superman works alone" line

While I think B&R is one of the worst movies ever filmed I still can appreciate one moment: when Bruce is talking to a dying Alfred and he explains Wayne how death is not a defeat. The final "I love you old man" really got me. One scene; the rest is crap.

Though I agree with you. I think their reasoning was to "not give in to this terrorist."

Totally.

Same here. AT first I thought "whoa, didn't they learn anything out of what Joker did?" Then I got they were moving on showing everyone they were not intimidated to the point of not having a proper funeral ceremony or whatever it was.

I think they also saw it as an opportunity to catch the Joker.

Yeah, it seemed like that was planned for. I mean, Gordan did take a bullet and let everyone think him dead.

True. I have posted it before and I'll post it again. Maybe I'm just an idiot (no jokes please :) ) But I still can't seem to wrap my head around who in on the plan! lol.

Obviously the mayor was not. So at least he was still speaking in public to show the people that they shouldn't be afraid.

don't know if it's been mentioned, but i was just watching '89 Batman, and where does all of the shields come from on the batmobile?! i mean it has an extreemly smooth body to it, and i can't see where all that metal comes from!!! this aside, it is a pretty darn cool moment, and let's face it; who WOULDN'T want it on thier car!

Batman can evade helicopters with spotlights and police cars with headlights by simply turning off his lights and entering "stealth" mode.

Yes, I´m still trying to understand how nobody could know that a monster car was on the road after 2 seconds of lights off. Also, when Batsie wants to turn off the lights, the helicopter´s light stopped to aim the batmobile...

Also, I´d add the boat finale in TDK. I love BB & TDK, but seems like they doesn´t know how to end the Joker storyline. And looks like you´re pretty much legal in USA, here in Spain both boats would explode

What patronization? Your criticisms make no sense, when the obvious facts were right there to see in the movie.

Btw, watch the language, or we'll have to get a moderator in here to put you into line.

:hehe::hehe::wow::hehe::hehe: Holy crap. I didn't know everyone else shared your opinion, and that there is a coalition against me. Oh and all the "did you even pay attention ****", that's what I was refferring too. If you can't see that as patronizing, than you're just an ahole. I hope you threaten regulation on everybody you see get their cusswords blurted out. If so you're a busy man.:whatever:

You know nothing about organized crime... one guy who has NO reputation isn't going to scare the whole mob.

Seriously, who the **** are you and where the hell are you from. Really, what world are you really in. This is what you do. You go steal from your nearest underworld kingpin and see what happens. You will be a marked man. Don't act like you know what you're talking about when clearly you have no ****in idea, then try and talk **** to me about it. It's not that he scared them, it's that he spit in their face. Once again because obviously the two of you want to read and believe what you want to, despite all of my points, if you steal ANYTHING, ANYTHING from ANY facet of organized crime, you are a marked man. Much less 68 Million dollars. And I dare you to dispute that again. I will personally e-mail you a hundred obituaries from this past year alone. Just from my state. Matter of fact, I'll send a couple schoolmates - ****in kids - who thought they were invincible and did the same thing your boy in the movie did. The mob kills KIDS over **** way less than even thievery. LOOKS get you killed. But in your little fantasy world, this ******* can steal 68 Million. GET REAL. The both of you seriously need to get your heads out of your asses and get real. Really, get real. Then again, I'm pretty sure the both of you are well aware of every point I just tried to make. Your just too damn biased to acknowledge it, which hurts my damn heart. You can have it though. I'm through with this thread.

LOL, great response Batgasm.

I see points on both sides..but i don't agree with the swearing and the threats on either side...

1. to me Lau was being sarcastic when he said "small" amounts, it reeked of it to me, but thats my opinion. You can have yours.

2. Joker would be a big deal the mob just no in its current situation...in comparison to the cops...who well, is stopping any income, which means they basically are just sitting on there money and not making any, which screws over future profit

3. batman is probably the main issue like the joker said as NONE of this was happening before he came, they pretty much ran the place, dictated what happened.....now theres a new sheriff in town...his name...BATMAN

If you're a mob boss in a meeting with a bunch of other mob bosses who you deal with and you get some crazy ****ing clown (I'll argue on your own terms) who just publically stole 68 million dollars from you collectively (which personally I could accept as being a "relatively small amount", this is Gotham... these guys are in a city that they've run for years until some loon in a bat-suit started chipping away at their empire) bursts into your meeting kills some guy with a pencil and reveals a bunch of grenades on his person before he begins making demands which sound as crazy as he looks, do you:
1. Attempt to kill this man who's got grenades on his person and is seemingly crazy.
2. Let him shoot his mouth off in the room whilst holding the belief that between yourself and all of the other men in the room you wield an immense amount of power in the underworld and should be able to track him down and pick him off at a time when he is not carrying several grenades and making a dramatic example of him.
3. Play along with the guy who's offering to remove the biggest thorn in your collective sides whilst looking for an oppotune time when he is not carrying several grenades and making a dramatic example of him.

I don't know about you but I don't think I'd be too keen on number 1...

I can buy that the main issue is the cops... after the litany of crimes that Capone was behind it was tax fraud that they managed to pin to him... once the cops can get them on something they can start to apply pressure... then they're dealing with a very unpredictable and uncomfortable situation with considerably less power than they currently have...

certainly not the "dumbest" moment....but one scene tht bugged me in begins was gordons "escalation" soeech.

"we start using semi automatics, they by automatics...we start wearing kevlar, they buy armor piercing rounds"

is this to say that the GPD does not already use semi autos and wear kevlar? what are they using, musket rifles and metal chain mail?

I thought he was citing historical examples of criminals using greater technology to match that of the police force, not that he was citing examples of what the police COULD do.

well, yes that dialogue is odd. I mean, semi-automatic... a Winchester is semi-automatic. Semi-automic means every time you pull the trigger a bullet comes out. That's basic technology.

And Kevlar-piercing weapons are heavy and actually too powerful to be used by normal criminals (or let's say: untrained people). That's a problem in modern warfare especially for the "civilian" units like medics. They don't have weapons that can penetrate modern body armour.

...yet. Which is his point with escalation.

Citing historic examples and showing how technology constantly improves on both sides.

The Joker's permananent smile was incredibly stupid.
Take one of the greatest actors of our generation and slap an inhibiting prosthetic on his face.
Amazing.
