he could have been King Leonidas in 300!
Apparently he was up for 300 but couldn't do it because of conflicting schedule with Bond auditions!

Leonidas is supposed to be an older man but Cavill can rock a beard now. And his abs are good enough to play Leonidas, though Gerard Butler had bigger more protruding abs. However, Butler gave an extremely aggressive and powerful performance as Leonidas, it was not just about showing your physique, there was a passion and intensity and rawness there that I think Cavill won't be able to pull off. Atleast now. He needs more time to mature as an actor. Butler played Leonidas at 36, so hopefully Cavill will become as good by then.

We only saw DP Clark for 15 seconds, but I have to say he did look very different it was astonishing how unlike Superman he appeared.

I know that the 3% figure could have quoted around to create hype but I think the actual figure was definitely closer to that than 10. And for the abs, the above is not a great shot but in the movie when he is rummaging the clothes on the line, his abs really stuck out and look very clearly defined. We actually don't have many official stills to go by, but for a moment let's look at Immortals where he claimed he had around 5% body fat and shaved his torso for the definition to show
As a basic rule, when someone publicizes their weight or body fat % in Hollywood, it's always exaggerated. :oldrazz: Or they used a very inaccurate measuring tool like calipers.

At 3% body fat, you should have been seeing distinctive muscle striations and veins popping out on him. You don't. He doesn't have to be super tan. I can see my own muscle striations in my shoulders sometimes and I'm pretty pale. He's closer to 10%. Which is a GOOD thing, because I think striations and veins are disgusting. :funny: It's obvious he's put on a **** ton of muscle, he doesn't need to be all striated to look impressive.

I'm a woman and the only reason you can see the muscles and ligaments in my arms is because I don't have much fat cells on my upper body. I put it all on my lower half. I'm probably closer to 20% body fat if you consider my entire state. You don't have to be sub-5% to look amazing, but Hollywood likes to tout their actors as having pushed SO HARD for their roles. :funny:

I'm not saying what Henry did isn't impressive. It sure is. Especially how his pecs were so damn solid. :funny: But Hollywood has made women feel bad for years by exaggerating how skinny their models and actresses get. Yeah, they're skinny but if they were at the weight they purportedly are, most of them would be in the hospital. :funny: I don't think putting similarly impossible high standards on men counts as equality....

I think he was up for the Fassbender role.

He’s also not a complainer. I had him filming in winter on a heliport in Vancouver with no shirt on and we had to spray him with water for take after take against a freezing wind and he never said a thing. It wasn’t until his trainer said, ‘Henry will literally fall down before he will say anything, but you’ve got to give him a break,’ that I realised he wasn’t a machine.” - Zach Snyder on Henry Cavill

:csad:
Oh my poor baby! Makes me just want to wrap him in a blanket. He really was dedicated to this role. I wonder why he wanted it so bad and fought so hard to do it justice.
And if anyone says "becauSe its Superman" I will track you down.

Not this again.

This is not even 3% body fat.

Cavill without all the make-up or lighting was at about 10% body-fat. The tabloids need to stop throwing out these ridiculous body fat% numbers. It really confuses the general public as to what are normal body fat percentages for a human body.

Saying cavill was 3% bodyfat in MoS would be like saying beyonce weighs 98lbs.

Is that Gaspari above? I can tell from that pic as well that Henry is not that low of a bodyfat %, as said above he is more around 8-10%.

It's just sad that there are people out there who know nothing about the human body who think 3% body-fat is cool, when in reality you would be facing severe health problems at this percentage.

The lowest percentage bodybuilders who spend days dehydrating themselves so they can maintain that percentage for a few hours, is rarely much under 5% let alone under 3%.

Also yes it's gaspari.

Personally even being into fitness and bodybuilding myself I like the old 70's look where your bodyfat was a higher percentage not only does it look healthier, it looks better all around imo.

The Cavill Thread has turned into either "Girls Heart Cavill" or "Bodybuilders Anonymous"

Yeah, at least it's safe from that DC vs Marvel crap :p

This thread doesn't need a bump. It was bumping along just fine.:huh:

Holy ****! This guy looks like hes seconds away from having the blood bursting out of his veins! He also bears a resemblance to Michael Shannon.
