Wow, Ive never realized how thick the heels are on the SR boots. Looks to be a good 1 1/2" to 2".

The MOS boots on the other hand dont appear to have any noticeable heels.

wow! looking at the SR suit again just reminds me of how much the small(er) S shield really hurt the suit. it just made the torso area look too elongated.

The MOS S shield is much better in that respect.

Of course the costume designer said the S was based on the physique of Routh at the time. They shouldn't have rushed aspects of the film, or force him to stop his muscle development.

I really think Routh's physique was the primary problem with that look. The suit's design was a byproduct of that.

there are so many fan made concepts of the Superman Returns suit that showed many many many ways for it to have worked, so are just exactly that fan based, but there were a few if I remember correctly that were designed by ppl who new how to tailor clothes so Singer's crew have nothing they can possibly say to justify it.

I remember the first time I saw Routh's pic when he was announced and then I said "F@#K NO!!"...then seeing him in the surfer suit with the shower curtain made me hate him even more lol.

I've said it before that I'm not a fan of the new Man Of Steel suit, but if I had to choose between the Superman Returns, DC new 52 and the Man Of Steel suits....MOS one wins hands down. Thats just my 2 cents though

these two photos show that the colors are weird. The one on the left his trunks look red. The one on the right they look dark brown

To be fair that looks like an old photograph. Maybe he has since quit.

I think he has quit. I've never seen a spy pic of him taking a smoke break or anything like that.

Well the saturation/tint in the picture on the left has been turned up. Look at the skin tone as well. It's almost pink. It's like someone took the original picture and "manipped" the colors to his/her liking. But yeah, that picture has most definitely been tampered with. With all that said though, there were pictures throughout the marketing, for SR, where the colors seemed to fluctuate. The colors in the suit, in some pictures, were really rich and good looking. While in other pictures, the colors were the dull colors that we eventually wound up with.

Poor Brandon Routh, he wasn't a bad Superman, he had the potential. I can't blame Brandon for what Bryan Singer and the writers did to that movie.

I really don't understand this opinion. It's not about potential, it's about actual acting ability and experience, of which Routh had little. Yeah, maybe with a another decade of experience and more training, he could become a good actor, but that is not the actor that we got in 2005 or even would have got in a potential sequel. He was a glorified model who had done a couple of soap operas. Even now, his acting is mediocre at best. Good riddance to him. I won't be sold on Cavill until I see a trailer, but given his credentials, he has POTENTIAL.

This is what bothered me the most about the Routh suit. Under the right light, the colors look fantastic. But in the film, it's so muted...
