The Dark Knight Rises How the movie is going to end

its half and half
But think about it, it would be the ultimate ending: Batman dying to save Gotham. The ultimate redemtion after being blamed for Dent's death.

He's the hero that the city needs
He's the hero that the city needs right now

It would be epic.

So you want to end this series by screwing Gotham City over?

"Daddy, why did Batman tackle Bane in front of that train and get splattered all over the tracks!?"
"Because he's the hero we need right now. A watchful protector, A dar... F***, he's dead."

Not really screwing it over, more like saving it from devistation and paying the ultimate price.
What about when it's threatened again? If someone stops crime and becomes a figure that criminals fear and don't want to cross, then dies, what's to stop the mob from starting right back up and throwing the city into a depression that makes 1,000 more Joe Chills again?

You've still got other villains lurking out there: Penguin, Black Mask, Poison Ivy, Killer Croc, etc. if you killed Batman, you literally screw Gotham over. thats why in my idea, there was a hint to Alfred giving the mantle of Gothams Protector to Dick: Going from Robin to Red Robin in a sense of being

I don't want to see Batman die, I really hope they end it in a way where no one can continue it without having to kill him off. Theirs got to be more options than that. Although I'm sure they could make his death "epic" if they took that route.

Easy, my friend. That's where the reboot comes in :oldrazz:

But seriously, imagine Bane setting up a nuclear device, too big to be moved by a man. Prior to that, Batman defeats Bane, the mob and rushes to the location in an attempt to defuse the bomb, but the code is uncrackable. Bats then gets his batplane and attatches a lead tot he bomb and hoists out into outerspace, where it blows him and the bomb up.

But who in that list of baddies exists in Nolan's world?

Maybe Black Mask

Um Croc only has a skin disease and penguin is just a rich snob. And there are plants that can kill you. Anyone could fit

We're just speculating here. Only one who knows is Nolan and he's not talking, obviously.

I just mearly gave a scenerio for what I thought would be a great ending, doesn't mean it's going to happen. But with the complexity of the storylines that Nolan is known for, I doubt that riding off into the sunset with everything spiffy is an option.

Yeah, riding off into space with a Batplane and nuclear bomb is probably more likely.

Nolan is known for ending his movies with a twist reveal or swerve. So far he hasn't done that in the Batman series. Maybe he'll end the trilogy in a cool and clever way while still bringing a sense of closure to the whole thing.

I wonder if it could end like the 1994 Batman Animated Series ended. That would be something to see.

Did the 94 series have a finale? I thought it just led into the Gotham Knights series.

The last shot won't be of Batman. It will be of Wayne. This is Bruce Wayne's story, not Batman's.

I thought it ended with Gordon chasing down Batman through his cave. The film doesn't need to have Gordon, but maybe someone else chasing Batman down through his house and cave. I can't see it happening but it would be interesting.

I think you may be refering to the episode where Batgirl 'died', though it was all a hallucination brought on by fear gas ala the Scarecrow.

Really because I didnt pay $8 to see Wayne Begins 6 years ago

Whatever the ending, I'm just starkly opposed to the whole "Batman dying" idea. It's something that quite a few people have been speculating on after Nolan made comments about "wrapping up the story" and all that.

However, I just really don't think it would fit at all, thematically. Because we have yet to see Batman really come into his own. He hasn't become the mature, experienced Batman that we know he will be yet. The Nolan series has been detailing the early years of Bruce's trial. It's the Year one/Long Halloween Batman. Having him die would be just...premature.

I want this series to end with Batman finally fully accepting his role as Gotham's protector, and becoming the experienced crime fighter we know he will be.

The movie will end with Batman accepting his duty as The Dark Knight and Catwoman somehow escaping into the night.
