We see bruce wayne in the detectives office - talking about Kaesar Batman - gordon lets him go, he slowly walking out with a limp regaining his stride then jumps into the batmobile and drives off. Gordon drops a coffee mug which reads "I'm Batman" on the bottom, he rushes outside only to see Bruce is gone...

Bruce and Selena will have a son. Bruce will stop being Batman. Years later, Bruce and Selena are killed in an alley in front of their son. Alfred takes him home and then he happens to find the Batcave. It all ends with the boy staring at the cowl implying that he will be the next Batman.

For the longest time I kept thinking that they would go the DK:R route. With Bruce faking his death, the funeral, etc. It just might happen. Nolan's looking for an ending, and he loves to take things from that book.

But seriously though, that's not how I'd want the franchise to end. It should happen like way later. Nolan ought to leave enough room and end his 'early years' story, not the entire 'Batman' story. There will be other filmmakers after he's done.
