I think there may be a slight generational thing here about Aquman. At the same time that a guy like you is saying "Yeah, you go Johns! Keep that silver Age look for the character, and keep having Aquaman constantly refuting in-universe accusations of him being lame!", my response was "He looks like Steve Rogers in an uninteresting costume. And people are shocked he's badass? No ****, Sherlock! Were you not paying attention to the character's history? Did you not have Cartoon Network?"

I love the barbarian look, since I think it fits the character even in a New 52 style storyline, makes him unique, and communicates a different culture.

Plus, I've kind of grown a slight bias against any Silver Age elements just from being a 90's kid. To me, Aquaman has a beard, there's more than one Robin and Batgirl, Wally West is clearly the best Flash, and Clark Kent is married to a badass Lois Lane. And seeing Aquaman emerge from the water looking the same way he did back on the 70's does nothing for me.

As a kid I loved Aquaman... and still do today – I never considered him 'lame'! He was, for example, the first SuperPowers figure I picked up as a kid. I loved his orange/green colour combination (I always thought the orange was gold anyway) and grew up reading the Aparo run in the comics... being in the UK we didn't really get the Super Friends cartoons, so I never got the 'lame' references growing up.

With Aquaman, to me it's always been obvious that he's gonna be extremely strong, and be able to withstand huge pressures, extreme cold and see in total darkness... he lives in the sea for god's sake... so always kinda annoyed me that other people couldn't see this!

As for Momoa's Aquaman –*It was obvious they would change his look too... but he does look like the bearded, bare-chested Aquaman from the 90's, so I don't have a problem with it... I just hope they give us one fan-friendly scene with him wearing a golden 'scaled' shirt, that resembles his classic look.

Well, you're certainly right that for many it's a generational thing, though I'm a 90s kid as well and to me Aquaman is blonde and clean shaven, Green Lantern is Hal Jordan and Flash is Barry Allen. I firmly support the modernization of Silver Age concepts that may be considered outdated, but without feeling the need to have the characters barely resemble themselves in the process. Johns did that with Hal, with Barry, with Arthur, with the JSA, etc. That proves to me it can work. But maybe it's just a more personal thing to me, because I totally despise the notion of the "generic lily white guy" and all of that. But again, I won't condemn this version just because the look doesn't necessary appeal to me and Jason is a good actor who I look forward to see what he would do. I still think those eyes they gave him was a bit too much though.

I've said it before, but I think JL members should call each other with their real names and leave Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman etc for the public and press.

Yeah I'd prefer that too.

They're keeping Mera under wraps so tight and it's killing me. Ugh.

Is it possible Heard's personal situation has had a big part in keeping her under wraps?

Ditto. Hopefully they show us his lady soon as well.
Oh yes! Can't believe we haven't seen her actually, definitely looking forward to that reveal.

In JL: War and Throne of Atlantis they showed Vic interacting with the motherbox like Stark does with his AI. Will it be cheesy if he does that or people will say they're copying Marvel?

I only remember him doing it in War but I don't think it's cheesy. I mean, it's a part of him, of course he could communicate with it.

Apparently Faraci "stepped down" from his job due to the sexual allegations. Jesus Christ, so this was actually true? Serves him right, the son of a *****.

He claimed to not remember it, but still asked for forgiveness. He then decided to step down and seek help. He hasn't actually admitted any guilt in all of this though.

i don't want some lame set pics to be a Mera reveal. i want official photo!
