A lot of the more adult tv shows if they have interracial dating, the dude is darker. If it's a teen show or tween show like on Disney or Nick, the dude is always lighter.

I've noticed that too. I'm fairly dark and my wife (and many other black women over the years) have said they perfer darker guys. I've always perferred lighter complected black women. My wifes a caramel complection but I've been known to date a "red-bone" or two.

I've heard dude's say stupid **** like "She's alright...for a dark skinned girl" if they see a fine dark woman, but then they'll nearly jump through their own @#$holes for an ugly woman who happens to be lightskinned.
