I haven't seen the film yet so I won't defend it. All I will say is that like it or not a film doesn't open with over 150mil without looking appealing to an awful lot of people. Your jealousy over it's success matters not.

Battle of the remake and the reboot. This Friday can't come soon enough.

There is no battle. Beauty and the Beast will be an easy number one next weekend.

You never know. BatB could have a bigger drop then expected and Power Rangers could do better. We just won't know until the numbers start rolling in.

Also apparently I don't know how Spring Break works anymore. Kids have been off for awhile already. More next weekend I would expect.

Beauty and the Beast is going to have a big drop like all big openers but it's word of mouth is too good for it to putting up a BvS style drop. It's a lock to be number one next weekend. Lions Gate does not have a good track record of pulling off 70mil opening weekends. The Hunger Games films are the only Lions Gate films that pulled in those type of numbers. I could see an over performance for Power Rangers but not to a big enough degree for it to be number one.

No but the number started strangely higher awhile back. Interesting to see them adjust so much.

Well if it does do the numbers they think at least it'll make a 5mill profit. Hopefully it does at least 150mill domestic. One can pray.

Those are pretty much my predictions for next weekend except I think Chips is going to open under 10mil.

Power Rangers-37mil
Life-15mil
Chips-7mil

I'll predict BATB drop after we get the final weekend numbers that will probably be 5 to 10mil higher than estimates.

Seriously. Growing up it always fell on Easter weekend for me, except a few times in college.

Good reviews would do wonders imo. But you never do know.

What I liked about it was that I read it in SPIDEY's voice. And then I realized I have given I SEE SPIDEY a voice in my head and I started laughing really hard.

You will be surprised to know it is rather aggressive.

I think it can open decently. Well above the current projections. I just don't think it will have any legs without strong reviews. I wonder how much nostalgia this movie will have considering it just doesn't look anything like Power Rangers.
