The Dark Knight Rises OFFICIAL: Batman in the Burgh

I have no clue, Lawrenceville has a bunch of little shops and bars, and one maaaassive cemetary. The only really massive buildings I know of there are schools, maybe this will be the setup for the "St Swithuns" scene? I know they were trying to cast teenage boys here in the previous months, and I recall during their scouting period they looked at schools. If I were a betting man, my money would be on a school.

Ah, a school makes sense. If it's in fact a school, we'll most likely see Bale in Bruce Wayne mode. It could also be one of the bars you mentioned. I seem to recall some chatter here about how they were supposed to use the Babylon Lounge and they were looking for baristas. So maybe they changed the bar? Unless Babylon Lounge is in Lawrenceville?

Hopefully we get pics tomorrow! :awesome:

ETA: Am I the only one getting this annoying Axe ad at this site?

Nope, I'm getting it too. It's very bothersome.

Btw, do you know what time and where online we can watch the press conference? I'v been reading that it starts at noon, don't know if it's true or not though.

With all this with Wayne wanting to continue his father's philanthropic for Gotham I'm expecting alot of playboy Wayne persona while still doing good. Like in the resturant scene in TDK which I loved.

Looking forward to that!

Noon EST is the only info I have as well. I'm sure tweets, pics, vids and articles will be online in no time.

so how about this press conference, it isnt public is it? Wasnt there one in chicago years ago that had the tumbler there and such? It was more of an event or something. What about us in Pittsburgh?

I'm curious about that too. Hope to see it sometime online today.

The one in Chicago in 2007 just had Nolan, Bale & Mayor Daley.

Some tweets (@PghBizTimes):

#Batman director Christopher Nolan in news release: #Pittsburgh welcome, architecture "will bring enormous production value" to #DarkKnight

Every time door opens, every photographer gets in position. So far, it hasn't been #Batman star.

Lots of press waiting for #Batman to begin.

Christian Bale just spoke. He said this is his first time in Pittsburgh.

What are people's thoughts on being an extra in Pittsburgh?

I read somewhere that a few people were going to get tickets but they decided not to because they weren't American citizens.

But I tried calling the only number I could find, to check with the agency, and they said it's cool if you're from Canada (but when I called I didn't even know I was talking to the agency - the guy just picked up and said hello).

Does anyone have a similar concern or better yet, facts about this concern?
Thanks

So what's with Bale's facial hair? Loving the pics and updates. Can't watch the news since I'm at work :(

I find Bale always has facial hair in between his films. Whenever he is at an awards show or in an interview he's always got long hair and a beard :P

Which I think is cool, because then when I watch Batman, I see Bruce Wayne and not Christian Bale because his look is so different. It's like "oh hey, this guy usually has a beard, but he shaved to be Batman so now I don't see the actor...I see the character"

Ah, that makes a lot of sense, very cool! Thanks for enlightening me!

I'm guessing that he likes it that way. but seeing as how we probably saw a scene of him doing pushups with a beard it could be that when he decides to become Batman once again we could get a scene with him shaving (like in the dark knight returns when he shaves off his mustache) and then putting the suit back on. If (and this is purely speculation) the jailbreak is actually Bruce busting out of jail then he might have some scenes left where he still needs the beard.

Maybe batman will have a beard in this movie
