One of the ad's for the casting call said to come dressed somewhat similarly to one of the roles they were looking for. I came dressed in button up/nice pants as a "business man". There were others there who were dressed more like "thugs" ( sleeveless shirts, wife-beaters, etc..) and even a couple I saw dressed in security guard or police uniforms, it probably would help in my opinion.

I think it was the hotel's mistake. Tammy, the lady in charge of the casting, gave a whole speech about what a working title is and how we are to refer to the film as "Magnus Rex" only.

Paraphrasing a few lines from the lecture:
"We all know what movie this is, right? Who here does not know what movie this really is?" (nobody raises hand)

"Don't use the B-word. No B-word, no TDKR, nothing. Even on set. It's Magnus Rex."

I wonder if they are trying to avoid casting people like us who are trying to get on set to learn details of the film. I'm sure they know most people are fans and that's why they attended, but to the level of what we would try and learn on set. I've know a few PA friends that have worked on high profile sets (one friend tried to get me on Spider-Man with her), but I've always wondered if they could see right through me if I worked on any Bat flick. It'd be too tempting to keep a secret.

I'm thinking about trying out but I've heard different schedules when coming to the casting. I heard June 19th was the last day but another article stated that it would be August 2nd. If that's the case, great! I have finals next week but can anyone confirm this?

They're to film in Pittsburgh for 8 weeks but what about LA? I heard they were going to film a few scenes there too.

I think the shoot in LA is as long -if not longer - than the shoot in Pitts.

BTW they're filming in Pitts for 3-4 weeks not 8. The bulk of the shoot is in LA ad London. Dint know about NYc yet..

Yea, I heard rumors about the crew also heading towards NYC too. Did Nolan state NY was on his list? I know he was spotted there in the winter...

New York was mentioned in the press release. In fact back in Jan, they were already shooting helicopter shots of NYC's skyline.

Also Nolan was scouting on Wall Street and Newark.

This version of Gotham is probably the most ambitious, meting all these cities together (including Glasglow)

Oh yea, the Bat-Copter was spotted.

In that case, I really hope they hold something similar in NYC -- it'd be alot closer for me, but it is yet to be seen if they'll hold more open casting calls.

The NY shoot will be in the fall so hopefully we will hearing some news soon!
