To the people that already went to an open casting, do you have any hints for the people going to the upcoming events. I'm not hitting the dark knight ones but Chicago superman castings. Still would love any hints/tips.

My girlfriend is from PITT, she just told me her best friend went to the open casting call over the weekend. I told her to keep me informed as to what happens with it.

Anyone else have a feeling that most of the films major action scenes (car chases, prison breakout, stadium fight/explosion, other big scenes) will be happening in Pittsburgh. I just think that this huge extra casting means there are going to be some big scenes that get filmed here. If anyone here gets cast, make sure to keep us updated! t:

For those that went to the casting call or heard about others that did, how long was the wait for those that got there super early (i.e. 5am)?

I got there at 8:30am for the 9am call, I finally got in around 11:30am but granted that was the first day so it was probably overly busy. No real pointers needed, you just wait your turn, take your picture, and thats it. I believe the only things that would make a difference is the info you fill out on your card they give you, i.e. when you're available, where you live etc...

Haha very true, I lucked out in that situation. I'm sorry you weren't as fortunate, but hey, we all got in eventually! I cant imagine future casting calls taking as long as that first day though, I'm kind of interested in going back again this weekend due to the recent "need more males" e-mails we got.

Yeah, no kidding! I read that email and said "Seriously?" I mean, there were thousands, literally thousands, of people there and most of them were guys. Does Nolan have a scene in which it rains men and he refuses to use CGI?

Hahaha, dude I know. No joke, there were thousands of males there, how in God's name do you need more? With a crowd that size you'd have to film it from a good distance away, resulting in not being able to distinguish gender, so wtf!!?? This thing boggles my mind.

Unless they just haven't found enough of the type of people they're looking for, but I doubt thats the case. The woman there said lots of "prison and cops scenes", but this is a hell of alot of guys they want.

I plan on getting there Earle-y as **** Saturday morning. Then probably off to Primanti Bros for a 2,000 calorie sandwich. : )

With them needing more men, I can only imagine some huge prison riot scene. They also want businessmen (what I'm going for), so I don't know how that figures into things yet.

There were a lot, when i was leaving the line looked as long as that 4 minute video from last week. There was some guy there who looked like Tiny Lesters brother, dude was huge. Some old guy too that looked like Fidel Castro if he were Santa Claus

Ratio of guys to girls was about 2/1

They say they expect to hire 3,000 extras while here in Pittsburgh, so that could be for who knows what; rioting at Arkham, in the streets...they kept mentioning police officers, so that makes more sense.

Hey, if those rumors are true about Mellon Arena...maybe it'll be blown up during a performance by the Gotham Circus...and The Flying Graysons??

Also heard rumblings about some bar/restaurant interiors being shot at Babylon Lounge near 31st Street Studios...

Just something I heard from someone I can't ID...so take it as rumor, but don't be surprised if it happens. I was told they're renting out the bar/restaurant for almost the entire time they're here, and that they'll shoot 2 scenes there...take it with a grain of salt until someone confirms it. It is RIGHT NEXT to 31st Street Studios (formerly Mogul Mind), and 31st Street Studio's Twitter account keeps hyping up Batman shooting in Pittsburgh. That makes me leery though because, as the extras casting director said today, no one associated with the production should be using the "B" word...instead using the Magnus Rex production title. Why 31st Street Studios wouldn't be doing that with their deal on the line doesn't make sense.

Either way, I live downtown and can't wait for shooting to begin!
