Person Of Interest - Part 2

This shows writing is just great, its something that you would expect from a full length film and not a series.

There are stand alone episodes with a case of the week format, particularly in season 1, but then lots of over arching arcs and seasons 2 (particularly the second half) and 3 move more in a serial direction with almost every episode adding to the overall plot in some way, I'd say.

Huh, interesting. Does it start off as great in terms of its writing and such though? I mean. Is/are the pilot and the whole first season great or....?

The critical reception based on the pilot doesn't really give me much of an idea as to how good it is, really. It seems fairly good for a pilot (the reception), but I'm not sure. I don't really want to devote my time to watching what may be a typical procedural/average/potentially C-grade show, which I don't think it is, but yeah. Just a concern of mine, I guess.

The stand alone episodes are usually still good. There'd probably be some difference if I were to sit down and watch them all, but just going off the top of what I remember here (spoiler tagged for length, not spoilers)

Huh. So it starts off good and gets better as it goes along, essentially?

I'd say so. Though I probably would have rated some episodes higher prior to this season, which has been pretty consistently top notch, in my opinion.

Bottom line, just watch the show. :)

Haha, I just downloaded the pilot, so I should be watching it today.

It's amazing seeing the contrast between the reactions on Nolan Fans and the reactions on here. It's (the reception, that is) so much more positive here (and elsewhere outside NF), haha.

I liked the pilot, but the show starts morphing into what it is about halfway through the first season. It has a huge mythology now. It's funny/awesome how Jonathan Nolan kinda pulled a fast one on CBS by moving away from the procedural aspects (still there, but moves the story forward) and going a little more sci-fi.

It's the best superhero show on TV!

I disagree with one statement here it's not a superhero show. I would call it a serialized scifi procedural

Huh, awesome. Well, having watched the pilot, which was fun/a good time, I'll probably be watching more of this show then.

Thought that it was rather ironic that Nestor Carbonell played a pseudo-Harvey Dent character in the last episode. :woot:

Two episodes ago Reese jumped out of that window and shrugged it off. Doesn't get more super than that. :o

Shaw totally wanted a piece of Richard Alpert. :hehe:

last night they wrapped up season 3 and had a wrap party.

Without getting into too many spoilers, did anyone get a "Person of Interest" vibe during certain scenes in "Captain America: Winter Soldier"?

Particularly (Winter Soldier Spoilers ahead):

Zola being an evil version of Finch's Machine and the whole Project Insight conspiracy. I'm calling it, the mass casualty event is going to be the aliens attacking New York and it'll be revealed that POI is actually a Marvel project. :o

Well...

Shaw did call Reese "Captain America". XD

Finally caught up on the latest episodes. I like how they are combining case of the week elements with the larger myth of the show. It's really good and it interesting that my mom watches this when this is not her type of show at all, but she loves it.

Wow I really hope that promo is misleading

I agree, they are balancing things really well in each episode. I enjoyed seeing the different pairing in the last episode, Finch and Fusco was fun and Frank and Betty at the reunion was gold. :D

I think it will be as the show wouldn't give something like that away in a promo and I doubt they'd [BLACKOUT]kill off two main characters in one season, my guess is Shaw is shot with a tranq. [/BLACKOUT]

[BLACKOUT]I doubt it. Two main characters in one season, one who just got added to the main cast this season. I think it's most likely, as Hunter Rider said, a tranq.[/BLACKOUT]
