RoboCop Reboot - Part 1

I really don't mind at all. I always liked reading spoilers before I actually see the movies

the director was hired only so the studio had a puppet to move on the set. it will be the same with Snyder on Man of Steel. the guy is on a tight leash.

So you just keep bringing other movies and studios to the conversation for no reason? You lost me.
I loved ROTPOTA.

As for RoboCop, the movie has enough good names and a competent director which, hopefully, won't be bothered a lot by the studio and we might still have his vision on the screen.

I'm assuming the 'transforming' is kind of like Crysis 2 where the suit covers itself in a bit of hardened armor

I actually have a feeling that the RoboCop redesign will actually bear more than a passing resemblance with the Nano Suit... which I'm fine by the way.

If only all the Studio heads in Hollywood had one singular neck....:cmad:

That's the price you pay for getting in the entertainment biz. The suits have to take over your creative process.

He better keep his mouth shut if he wants to keep working. Now a days with so much money on the line in this economy, an unproven big budget director is going to have a close eye on him no matter what. Unless a big name like Nolan, Spielberg or Jackson is producing so they can protect him. Of course none of this means anything if the movie is fantastic.

I didn't see anything bad in rise of planet of apes that film and xmen first class are first films in years I felt fox doing something right.

I listened to the Nerdist podcast with Harry Shearer and he came off with a great line that summed up what we're seeing Hollywood do a lot recently, they certainly seem to be doing it with this movie: -
"They gave Sam Simon free reign with The Simpsons, FOX had absolutely no control, and when it was a huge success, they didn't say "We should let more showrunners have complete creative control", they said "We need more yellow families on TV"."

Studios want to stick to a formula, a director's just a person who tells actors where to stand.

I too hope the film turns out good.

WHHHAAAAAAAT???!!! You mean you don't want this movie to be a critical and commercial bomb that ends the careers of everyone involved, while you sit there pointing and laughing, saying "HAHAHA I TOLD YOU SO! NOBODY RAPES MY CHILDHOOD AND GETS AWAY WITH IT!"?

What's wrong with you?

:cwink:

Ya its to bad some studios/exec really don't know what the hell they are doing. Or muddle so much in a film production/editing and destroy a film.

No offense, but why would you want to read the script and spoil the entire movie experience by knowing everything that is going to be said and happen?

It's impatience I guess. Same reason that some people nowadays go nuts if they don't get a new bit of Man of Steel news (for example - replace with any other hot-at-the-moment film) every day.

The internet is great and all, but one downside is that everyone expects information and news to be updated at a much faster rate. Like ............. daily! But they don't really make films any faster than they've always done.

Those of us old enough to remember the original Robocop release will know that we basically got a handful of trailers, a couple of magazine articles in the months leading up to the release, and that was it. You just had to wait for the film. But I for one preferred knowing nothing about it beforehand, it meant the final viewing had more impact for me.

Yea could I get one of those pms as well please. You guys have made this movie sound ****ing awesome
