Sony pushed Elysium from March to August which was the original release date for RoboCop.

I was having doubts as to whether or not the suit will look like rubber on film, but I guess I underestimated the power of cgi and post production; I was re-reading the leaked script and, I don't want to spoil anything but, there's a scene where a certain character sees his reflection on Robo's suit. I also took another look to that lame video that is on the (also lame) onmicorp site, and you can see that the suit is really shiny.

I'm hoping they re-wrote some of the scripts' cheesy lines- like the "pg-13" thing that drew mcwiener pointed out and such. Also, don't buy his review of the script, the guy gave a good review to that piece of **** movie "savages"- what a waste of 2 hours of my life.

Just about every studio movie goes through reshoots these days. It's hardly unique to Robocop

Same here. Still looks like a knockoff off Iron Man/GI Joe Accelerator suits. The original was just classic.

I'm more curious to see the overall direction of the movie. I'm kinda torn on the suit, but it's not the most important part for me.

Yeah, same here. I'm still keeping positive about this one. Granted, I still cant get used to the hand but hey, if that's the worst of my quibbles then things cant be too bad..

I see your point dark_b, but his idea is not original like the way I was talking about. As you said, it will be similar to other movies. That's basically taking something that's been done and putting a new twist on it.

What I meant by something original, I meant something that's Never been done or seen before.

Can you give an example? Because you can pretty much trace any idea and story back to something else.

What is original is the director's vision.

I honestly don't think this is going to be good, but I'd love some footage to actually get a true feel of this.

Granted my last comment was somewhat crass and rather critical of this project.

However other than one or two scenes in the draft script and a solid cast I have not found much to excite me about this film.

I loved the original Robo - I've owned it it on numerous formats. As a kid a read and reread the tie in paperback. By my own admission I'm even rather fond of Robocop 2.

The Prime Directive Series was fun in so much that it dealt with and older Robo, but ultimately suffered from a low budget, pastiche writing style and shonky acting.

I personally don't like the new script (I found it charmless, clinical and cynical,) the overt PG13 direction, the changes to core characters, no matter how many angles from I just can't warm to the new suit. I know that these are spy pics and I should hold bak some judgment until I see something official - but that seems to be taking an eternity.

Yet for some reason I can't stay away. Perhaps I've become one of those awful fan boys who actually wants something to fail...odd really as I know that this remake won't harm my enjoyment of the original movie in any way, shape or form! Still perhaps something will come along to change my mind (fingers crossed.)
