RoboCop Reboot - Part 3

For this film it makes so much more sense to just make it PG-13, with how far you can go violence wise with that rating there's no reason to go R. As much as I love the pure violence of the original, the times have changed I really don't see the remake being anywhere near as violent.

I think that if a something is integral to the storyline then it should be used.
Something that is in a a movie JUST for the sake of it really adds nothing to the experience .
There isn't a redeeming quality.

SOme movies are R rated but what is the use of blood and gore if the story and the acting is crap.

So when was the proposed release date for this again? Cause they really need to start releasing some new images/trailer

It's about a year off. They have plenty of time.

Feb 2014.
A year from now. For now i doubt we will be seeing any footage or oficial images.

I think that they are laying low in the hope that some of the online negativity regarding the suit / script will die down in a 'news vacuum' and they can relaunch when they've tarted things up with some digital magic...

They could careless what people on the internet have to say.

This movie is a crime against humanity that must be stopped.

Anybody knows when they'll release any trailers/official pictures??

Well, Elysium is being released sometime in August, so we'll probably get a teaser around that time. They're both distributed by Columbia/Sony Pictures, so it would make sense.

This has the potential to be a steaming pile of fly-infested donkey ****. **** the producers. Any original ideas left, Hollywood? Anything?? Any ****ing thing???

Or surprisingly great.
Considering how hated it is at the moment, and how low the expectations are, I would not be surprised if it turned out a pleasant surprise.

You are a very unhappy person aren't you?

I'd be fine is this was PG13 honestly. I mean I would mind R either, but I actually dont want it to be as hyper, jokingly violent as the original. I dont think it'd go over as well now as it did back then

In all fairness, we really have reached the point where just about everything has been done. All you can do is TRY to come up with a new spin on something that's been done before. That's one of the reasons we are getting so many remakes. The other reason is the few(and I'm sure there are very few)original scripts come in, a number of times the studios don't like to take chances.

I love the original Robocop, but I've learned over the years to stop whining and crying about remakes. If you don't like what you see or hear about this film...then don't ****ing watch it...even though like most fanboys on the internet, I'm willing to bet you'll still see it. :oldrazz:

Whoops. Had no idea he was banned.

The original Robocop was a satire, like a literal jab at corporations and media and sensationalism. I know they're not doing that with this one, so that's why it's not coming off as cool as the first one to an extent. We'll see though.

the guy who directed District 9 directed a new movie that is original. i am 100% sure that the story will be similar to other 100 movies. but its something new. the budget will also be lower than 200 millions. both R rated with action.

its hard to get an R rated action movie in the theater. the only way its with a known director or with a remake that was R rated. they had some chance with this remake. they didnt tak it.

I see your point dark_b, but his idea is not original like the way I was talking about. As you said, it will be similar to other movies. That's basically taking something that's been done and putting a new twist on it.

What I meant by something original, I meant something that's Never been done or seen before.

Originality is overrated in importance among many. Personally I just want great movies above all. And how is making more movies about and rebooting RoboCop any different from all the superhero movies out there? I don't get the complaints, I love the original, but that doesn't mean I won't be able to like this one too if I find it good.

I find originality to be very overrated. You mentioned District 9 but that story is just Pocohontas all over again just like Avatar. The difference being that District 9 took that idea and actually made it good where as Avatar made it crap thus was ridiculed for it. The point is every story has been done to death, its what they do with the story that makes them good or not. Thats why I think this'll be good, they're taking the story general story of Robocop which is cop becomes a robot after being basically killed and they are taking their own spin on it and it sounds like it'll be pretty good. Great director and great cast

Reshoots in Vancouver.

Wonder how extensive the reshoots are considering that 2/3 of that leaked draft were utter cock...
