RoboCop Reboot - Part 3

Hopes for a sequel are dead, and the way the end of the script sounded was interesting but I hope this film kinda stay solo and I'm a complete supporter of it.

I'd love a RoboCop sequel to NOT go into the direction of RoboCop or a clone of him being evil and they fight. I don't know what else there is to do, but that's just my take.
Why do you say that?

Well all the reports I'm hearing are that the trailer will be attached to Riddick which is next week, so when people start seeing the film we'll know for sure.

The lack of anything on this film is just ridiculous, I can't believe the lack of commitment the studio have to this movie. Not even a proper poster so far.

I agree it is quite a lackluster attempt, I hope from here they really wow us.

Riddick comes out this week.

For this reason, I expect the trailer..... tomorrow. :yay:

Eh..... I don't think its that lackluster.

Honestly, they are in the some position Man of Steel was.

Both films got their release date delayed. So like Man of Steel, there was a very long period of time where we got nothing from the film.

We didn't get the first trailer for MOS until 6 months out from release.

And the first trailer for this is releasing 5 months before.

True but this movie needs a lot more help than Man Of Steel did and we had posters and such by then even if the posters for MOS were awful.

Unless they're really stupid and think this movie will be some sleeper hit that makes double/triple the 70 to 100 million spent.

We got the first teaser to MoS in July 2012, didn't we? The two with the voiceovers then the one shot of Superman flying from a distance?

The first real trailer was December, though.

I assume people will start to see Riddick Thursday 9/5 so hopefully we'll know if the trailer is there 100% or not.

Can't wait for this page to get updated with the RC-2000.

Should give us an awesome look at the suit.

Hopefully it updates when the trailer hits.

At least the fake OmniCorp web site is good looking.
Is it my eyes or ED 209 has been redesigned and the huge ( ugly ) cannon has been removed ?

PS : I'm an ED 209 lover.

I'm a big ED-209 fan too!

And yeah, they got rid off the huge canons, and pretty much everything else on the original reboot design, in favor of a more streamlined one more akin to the 87 version.

I'm starting to think we aren't getting this trailer this week. Ugh. I hope I'm wrong.

According to a poster at IMDB (yeah, I know) who works as a projectionist, the trailer is attached to Riddick this weekend. He also said they've received an IMAX version of the trailer too.

As for the trailer, he says...
Just watched it !! Wow looks like a hard pg 13!! There was a few disturbing moments.. i was skeptical but i gotta say im excited now!! Loved hearing murphy wake up as a cyborg and freak out in a robotic voice!

May be BS, but we need something, lol.. :oldrazz:

I was thinking it would drop online today, but I guess I was wrong. Hopefully it releases tomorrow.

Here's a rundown of what he can remember from the 'apparent' trailer. Take it with a grain of salt, for now...

Ok! here it goes!!! like i said, i only watched it once and in a hurry because there were people waitting to get in for the next show.. I def cant do a scene by scene, but heres as much as i can remember:

The trailer Opens with a scene of a drone flying a city (appropriate for our times) that looks alot like detroit, so im assuming it was supposed to be detroit.

At some point early on in the trailer they show all kinds of drones, both walking and flying kind, the entire ocp arsenal.. then keatons character states that they want to "put a man in a machine".

What follows is something we've all already heard about.. muphy is in his house, and his car's alarm goes off.. the scnene shows him stepping out of his house and pushing the button to turn it off, but the alarm keeps going..
Confused, he keeps pushing on the button as he walks up to his car , and then when he's just a couple feet away the car blows up.

and HERE is why i said its a hard PG-13! I dont remember what was said, but theres a scene where OCP seems to be trying to convince murphys wife to allow them to do this...and she asks "what kind of life is he going to have?" ... but then theres a scene that only lasts a few seconds of murphy laying there in the hospital badly burned and with one of his legs entirely blown off! He really looks in bad shape.. in think the PG 13 ratin is a product of the times, not that the movie is missing voilence. I think this sort of thing woul've landed you a R rating in 1987, but now it doesn't because we're all mentally ill. lol

Cuts to murphy waking up, again i dont remember specific dialogue but he appears very confused as to whats this thing attached to his body.. so he's asking questions, at this point his voice already sounds robotic, but kinda like in the original, his voice sounds robotic but you can tell its still his.
The OCP doctor/scientist dude explains to him that this is not attached to him, this is his body now.. Murphy freaks the F out and says "WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!!"

At this point his suite looks big, and menacing, and the color scheme of the original.. the show a couple of close ups, and as a fan of the original its a process to get used to it but its definately cool.... At some point they show an OCP dude saying they wannam make him look more ba-dass, and thats where the black suit comes in....

now heres what you we're waitting to hear : The suit does look a LOT better in the movie, with the lighting and everything, it looks very very weavy, i did not feel i was looking at rubber anymore.

Everything they show in the movie makes him look more lethal, more aggresive, there isnt alot of mercy left in murphy.. I guess because a big part of the plot is that he is losing his humanity.

There is a moment in the trailer where a desperate Mrs Murphy goes "YOU GOTTA TALK TO YOUR CHILD!", and then they show a surreal moment where cyborg murphy kneels down and looks at his child, but it seemed to me like he was way gone by that point.

Theres a moment where keaton explains that his program gives him the ILLUSION of free will, but its not real. They can control him.

And my favorite part: when the trailer is just about done, you hear the classic "Dead or alive, you're coming with me" in a robotic voice, but you no longer hear murphy in it.. it sounds dark, and disturbing.. which is GREAT!!!

Sorry about the lack to detail, the whole thing is very fast paced.. the movie looks violent, not gory

From what I know about the movie and the interviews that I've read, that trailer description sounds very legit, especially the part about him freaking out (in a month-old SlashFilm interview, director Jose Padilha describes a scene where Murphy is freaking out and coming to terms with his new robotic appendages).

sounds similar to some of the descriptions of the comic con footage shown.
