RoboCop Reboot - Part 5

From 1:58 to 3:54 is my favorite musical piece of the entire trilogy. I hope that for the sequel, the composer can pay a little homage to that piece. It's been in every RoboCop film.

The dubstep thing is a little weird but damn if it doesn't sound great to hear that theme again. That is going to be amazing if its used correctly in the film.

Since when did everything electronic sounding with a catchy beat become dubstep? It doesn't sound anything like pure debstep to me

Don't like that they put the dubstep beats into the theme. It was fine as is.

I like a good update here and there but one gripe I have about this score and many MANY other modern action film scores in general is the obvious Hans Zimmer Batman ripoff sound. It seems ever since TDK every action or thriller type film has tried to use the same exact style and tone and it shows here in a few tracks, sounding almost exactly identical in parts.

Other than that I could care less if the new updated theme has a supposed "dubstep" beat to it, I'm just thankful they included it for old school fans, it sounds awesome.

I think that the ending is fantastic, so out of the box and original.

Personally, I don't see anything "out of the box" or original about it. It was two lines and a cut.

Not saying it was bad or anything...

Ok so if you don't consider it "original" do you know of any other films as reference that have also ended that way?

What is "pure" dubstep? :D

I dunno how to describe it lol. It's like some in house DJ remixed the robocop theme. I don't hate it but could have been better and more friggin serious lol.

Am I supposed to building an Iron Man suit from 0:00- 0:31?

LOL

That's what the beginning sounds like to me

Indeed, I thought the same thing haha. This is ironically robocop meets iron man and the dark knight. I personally like that combo, and love the zimmer stylings of the soundtrack, but it is becoming the "go to" sound nowadays. It's a bit annoying that a new robocop couldn't be as memorable or original as the 87 film. They really could have elevated this film with an amazing sounding score.

I think the title card music and various other parts will play differently in the film. With these retail OST I've experienced so many tracks that are very different then what we hear in the actual film. Thus leading to a "complete edition ost" or an "extended edition" etc lol.

i hate pure dubstep. my friends like it, i always am smh.

that updated robocop theme is not "pure" dubstep. it could've been better, but it's not terrible...not like pure dubstep. eff dat stuff.

EXACTLY!:oldrazz: I myself don't dislike dubstep at all, I jam it here and there at the gym but a fan of it by no means, overall like I said above I'm just psyched as a Robocop fan that they included the original theme in the first place.

i think it's great. because it all a sudden hits you that he's finally gained back his humanity, then it leaves whatever happens next up to ur own imagination.
it's like the blade runner director's cut ending when the elevator door closes.

I'm no dub step enthusiast, but I am psyched too. even if it's not how I'd remix the original score, I still love that they are using it lol.

Yeah, I love the ending. It's very upbeat as well. Murphy has regained his humanity...then RoboCop 2 happens.

I think we can all agree on one thing. Even if the Robocop remake doesn't live up to the original, if it makes money, then we can surely guarantee that its sequel will be a better movie than Robocrap 2.

Word. Some will argue that at least Robocop 2 has Weller, the rest of the cast, and violence but that's exactly what makes it worse for me, haha.

All this dubstep hate hahaha. Doesn't improve on it, thats the issue. Still friggen rad they are using it.

If your listening to the right stuff as with any kind of music Dubstep can be awesome. Practically everything has taken a cue from it now adays and sound design has gotten better from it imo. Some of those producers are sound design geniuses. The layering and creative design for sound synthesis can be pretty damn complicated and impressive.
