If rumored ending Is one we see may 23 they are likely Abramsizing X-Men

X-Men-except for flashback of magneto as boy erased
X2 and Last Stand erased
Origins-except for begining up to WWII and possibly Vietnam scenes erased
The Wolverine-except for WWII scenes erased

leaving only FC and 1973 parts of DOFP for future films to build on.The next
Wolverine film and X-Force may be designed to lead up to Next X-men film.
I firmly expect next full X-Men film to be like Abrams Trek films not worrying about ages of characters In other films. The Trilogy Is being Retconned as having
taken place in 2012/2013 based on future In DOFP Is set as 2023 and the 10 years after last stand comments. So if teenage Cyclops,Jean,Storm, and even
Angel or Iceman would be In 1970's that wouldn't shock me.Gambit Is also a
prime candiate for next film based on Bryan Singer's wanting to use him comment.

Remember Lauren Shueller DOnnor Is still producing.Hugh Jakcman will return for next wolverine film and possibly next full X-Men film.Bryan Singer could return as director or at very least stay on as producer.

I will be very shocked If Jennifer Lawrence returns beyond FC3.The question also Is will James Mcavoy want to continue doing films if he has to shave his head for each film.Michael fassbender may become the new Hugh jackman of series especilly If
Magneto doesn't become a villain like he was In Trilogy

After the third film the FC cast's time may be up. For these franchises, you really need to have an option, at minimum, for a 4th movie. Negotiating after three films is very difficult, and each subsequent sign up is done on a movie by movie basis. Must have been difficult getting RDJ back, but Marvel knew they had to have him. For the next X-Men series, I would try to sign on the young OT replacements to a 6 movie deal over a 15-20 year period. You want a long term commitment, and you can offer incentives, provide a time frame for advance notice, and flexibility in terms of screen time and time required on the set.

They will have to reneograte with them or recast.FC3 will undoudtlly Introduce more characters.

Noone thought they could get all the OT cast back for last stand or all the
returnes for DOFP.

Marvel, I think I speak for all of us when I ask if you can please get through at least one post with referencing "the rumored ending". It's getting a little repetitive now.

The rumored ending Is key to what they are doing for future films. It's the clue
they are doing what majority want In this thread.

yes, and there IS a Spoilers topic already, so the rest of the users dont need to keep reading posts alluding to those spoilers.

lets keep the spoilers talk in the spoiler topic, even the small mentions to it.

it would be soooooooo appreciated

Yes, but you're including it in every - single - post. We get it, there's a rumored ending. No need to bring it up every time.

Well the recent James Marsden interview suggests that the rumored ending is true.

Which means X-Men: Days of Future Past will be the last X-Men film worth anticipating for me.

Well that's what majority of people who voted in this thread wanted. The fact It's only by 10 votes Is surprising

This could be last X-men film for me
The rumored ending of magneto possibly never being the villain of tirlogy and Cyclops and Jean alive is opening a Abrams Trek situation since I seriously doudt they will worry about not introducing characters In future sequels already In trilogy even if their appearance makes no sense with their age In Trilogy

and if people think the FC VS OT debates were bad before you hadn't seen
anything yet
If the OT Is now erased from cannon as well as wolverine films

Oh dear...

But THE OT CAST!!! Psylock, please interject in these never before seen debates.

Sorry for spam...:cwink:

Its not about the First Class cast versus main trilogy cast, at least not for me.

Its the fact that 13 years worth of movies are now thrown away and Invalidated. The journey I went on with these characters is now worthless. The filmmakers have proven they don't care about my emotional investment as an audience member.

So yay the internet gets what they want, at the expense of competent storytelling.

They're gonna throw enough money at the big four (Jackman, Fassbender, McAvoy and Lawrence) to keep them around for ten years.

The first phase of films are not being invalidated. They're being retired. Like the Nimoy/Shatner Star Treks, they exist now in a separate timeline. They are not being erased.

Separate timeline where the old events no longer happened = invalidated.

I disagree with that

After Star Trek Into Darkness as far as I am concerned the new trek films
exsist In paralel Universe. It has no connection to Star Trek that people
knew except In name only and Spock crossing over. They can't even keep the past pre Nero and SPock Prime arrival history Contunity consensent.

It's going to be same here. The trilogy and the wolverine are erased by time
travel.I don't go for this seperate timeline BS for eather trek or X-Men.
especilly since I expect characters to start showing up In X-Men films post DOFP Inconsent with ages in Trilogy.

A new timeline being created meaning those who wanted a reboot are mostly getting It.But,don't try to tell me Trilogy and the Wolverine aren't being erased.Just admit the proreboot people have won.

I agree.

It's time the proreboot people just admit they won and are mostly getting what
they want.

Just like Star Trek seperate timeline talk Is just trying to fool people past
films are relvent,or that It remains a long running series.

Uh if they didnt happen then how did Wolverine go back in time and change history?Hmmmmm?

the eternal discussion :whatever:

good point by the way, great mind

Someone should close this thread, and ban next one who start thread with ,,reboot" in title.

I don't know why people are astonished that things will change as a result of Wolverine going into the past.

A movie audience will expect something more satisfying, more dramatic and more rounded than the comic.

I have no idea what they are planning next with the main X-Men characters or whether we really will see any character returns/resurrections as a result of the time travel changes, but Singer has already spoken about "fixing s**t."

Either the future is alternate and the changes create the OT we already saw or the future is ahead of the OT and the changes create a new timeline.

It's foolish to think otherwise.

A new timeline may completly erase most films. That's more than just fixing a few things as Bryan Singer said.

If they are copying what J.J. Abrams did with Star Trek then trilogy and the
wolverine are erased. And characters will likely start showing in films their ages In OT be d-mned.

People who wanted a reboot are largely getting what they wanted.Time they just admit it.

There's nothing to admit. Like X-Maniac said, we don't know what Fox's plans are post Days of Future Past, but we do know some kind of change is likely. That much has been obvious for months. For whatever reason, you're just starting to grasp this.

To be fair, this is the reboot discussion thread.
