Splinter Cell: Blacklist

I clearly have a line when it comes to how grounded in reality entertainment is, and that line is crossed when half naked chicks pull out rocket launchers and middle-aged men leap to the top of mountains like they were just dosed with super soldier serum. :o

LOL. Yea a bald, genetically engineered assassin with a barcode on the back of his head you're ok with, but half naked chicks using an RPG? Nope thats too far.

Tom Cruise man. Tom Cruise could do that. Its not outlandish if Tom Cruise could do it.

The contrast between those two things is like night and day!

I guess I won't argue it any further but it's still beyond my belief. Sure Tom Cruise can pull a lot of his own stunts but like, ok, they wanna make Sam more agile, the least they could do is make it believable. That bit was jarring to me, I literally lol'd because of how silly it looked and that's why I'm railing on it the most. Just another one of my goddamn crosses to bear.

No i actually agree with ya. Im not a fan of how it looks either. But i have the same problem with Uncharted. What i do, to make it appear more realistic, is when I'm climbing, ill jump to the next ledge then wait to "catch my breath". To me it feels more authentic, rather than have my supposedly every man, bounding around like he's Peter Parker. Ill prob do the same here.

Hahah maybe if this were a platformer it wouldn't bother me as much. I don't have the same problem with Uncharted or Tomb Raider and whatnot since that's what those games are all about. Either way,

Crack spec ops maestro Sam Fisher is more shadow than man, but that hasn’t stopped Amazon from pinpointing a date for his next outing. VG247 note that the Amazon UK site is carrying a March 29 2013 release date for Splinter Cell: Blacklist. The Amazon posting arrives with details of the pre-order offerings, which include an “Upper Echelon suit,” new goggles that “shine gold” and an extra mission.

My only gripe is they still have u auto pickup weapons. Hated that in SC: C

hmmm even though I'm happy their showing more of the stealth stuff finally. I think they've milked that environment too much as it is . It's time for a change in venue.

lol you weren't the only one saying that though man . (thanks for leaving a brotha out) But I'm happy you (and that other person )were right.

Yeah, and even though they said it at E3...people are just skeptical. But, they did mention the inclusion of gear loadouts that add stealth bonuses and others that go the other way.

If they can pull off what MGS4 did, and make it a game that will allow me to ghost a level or violently murder everyone I see, it'd be great.

And Michael Ironside. Someone just...please, get Ubisoft to get Ironside back behind the goggles.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist aims to take Conviction's promise to the next level and then some

"I'm not going to go into the whole story," says Splinter Cell: Blacklist creative director Maxime Béland during an interview with Joystiq at PAX 2012, "but Conviction was kind of a rescue job for me." As the last game in the Splinter Cell series (that also served as a more action-oriented reboot), Conviction ended up doing fairly well at retail. But Béland says that he and another producer were "brought in because it wasn't going well. We changed the direction and kind of shipped the game in two years. So Conviction is very sweet and sour for me."

Soon after Conviction's release, Béland says he and his team sat down to put together a spreadsheet, going through over 80 reviews of the game and marking out what features were most mentioned, and which were most positively or negatively received. The black-and-white graphics during gameplay weren't well liked, so this past E3 when Béland announced Blacklist, one of the first things he said was that black-and-white was out.

Players felt the single-player part of Conviction "was too short, and the scope of the game wasn't big enough," so growing the world of Sam Fisher has become a priority for Blacklist. And the least-liked feature of Blacklist? Fans really missed the spy vs. mercs competitive gameplay mode. That's why for Blacklist, it's implemented right back in there. "Easiest decision of my life," says Béland.Splinter Cell: Blacklist (E3 2012)

Splinter Cell Blacklist – 5th Freedom Trailer

Here's the latest trailer for Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell BlacklistIn the game, super spy Sam Fisher is recruited by the US President to track down a group of terrorists, and in order to do it, he’s granted a rare license to kill known as 5th Freedom, which basically gives him the right to break whatever law he wants and kill whoever he needs in order to accomplish the mission. It will deploy on consoles and the PC in spring 2013.

Sick trailer. It's gonna be a little sad not hearing Ironside but I'm liking this new guy a bit better from what little iv heard.

I was just watching the Rewind Theater for the trailer on IGN, and is it just me or does Sam sort of resemble an older version of the default male Shepard from Mass Effect?

Hah, yea i see a little resemblance in there.

It's funny because they made the joke that he sort of looks younger in every game, and then when you add the fact that he still looks capable of performing all these stunts and now has a younger voice actor, it really makes me wonder why they just didn't do a prequel or something.

Yea, i was thinking the same thing. Altho i guess maybe you can look at this as a pseudo-reboot. Depends on how close they follow the old games. Maybe its like how Superman Returns was. It was a sequel to some of the older movies but at the same time it was kind of its own thing.

Thats how im looking at it any way. Makes it MUCH easier to deal with the fact Ironside is gone and Sam looks younger than he ever has before.
