as someone who is built like Reeve was, it is not possible to "bulk" up and look big in a short amount of time or possibly in a longer time.

Only short ass people can bulk up and look big. Large people in height, simply get toned.

You either have a trade off. Tall and built or above average and big.

I will go for the tall, IF and IF he is built and toned.

But did they hate the suit likers for liking the suit, or a different reason? I think it was the latter.

Why suit haters hate the suit likers is:

Matches Malone- Matches posts in a condescending manner, acting like he's talking down to the suit haters, even when they make valid points. He also brings up other things that posters have said to dismiss their arguments.

Milkman- Milkman's "It's still red so nyah" attitude shows lack of maturity and understanding of Superman. He dismisses things that make Superman SUPERMAN, and this frustrates suit likers because they are arguing with a person that does not fully understand what he is talking about. When suit haters explain, why he is wrong, he replies with posts that actually prove our point, but the suit likers team up with Milkman so he 'wins'.

Venom71- He acts like a child, refusing to hear anything wrong about the suit, dismisses facts, and acts like hes right when he's been proven wrong. The suit likers don't care about his childishness because they agree with him.

There are other people I can talk about, also.

Me thinks you really need to lighten up some Saph. Yes I may act childish sometimes...but I am a child at heart...I will never grow up....I am a Toys R' Us Kid! Nothing wrong with that BTW IMO their is nothing wrong with the suit....what facts? Me Wrong? Never

The two prominent complaints on these boards are:

1. The suit.

2. The muscle.

Any underwhelming presences caused by these 'problems' in Superman pictures, are blamed on:

1. The Costume Designer

2. Singer not telling Routh to bulk up.

Is it really the fault of them, or is it someone else? Is it..

I'm no Wellingite. I supported Routh when he was cast. Whenever I disliked something in this movie, I never blamed Routh.

Until now.

We're all familiar with this picture. It flared up the argument on Routh's size, because this picture shows Routh as being very skinny, while other pictures show Reeve size.

I saw this manip:

Kudos to who made it.

This manip is, obviously, just Reeve pasted on Routh's body. And look at the difference.

The suit doesn't look so bad.

He doesn't look so small.

It appears that it is the actor that determines how things appear, not the suit, or his actual size.

And Routh doesn't create the same impression. Will he surpass Reeve? Not likely, going by these pictures.

Routh still needs to show us if he can handle the Man of Steel. He has the voice, but does he have the rest?

Like I said before Routh is a Reeve / Welling Hybrid but very water down...
He just looks all wrong, and I don't blame him it's not his fault he doesn't look like SUPERMAN!

I blame Singer for miss casting him...

Yeah, thats true, Cage can act, but I just can't see him a Superman. Maybe he would've been good for the Burton Superman movies, but not this one. I have yet to see how Brandons acting abilities are though. They must be good enough for Singer to cast him.

The problem is fanboys who got used to artists who draw Superman like he´s high on steroids... Routh has the elegant physique of old school Superman, like Curt Swan.

Batgirl, I never saw an interview where bale said he was 6 foot but from judging from the getty images he's approx. 2 inches shorter than neeson( who's 6'4'') and about as tall as freeman who's 6'2'' 1/2.

And I really don't see how Bale is anywhere near Freeman's height. The only time where Bale seems to be roughly the same height as Freeman is when Freeman's slouching.
