I just think people should give Routh a chance before they bash and complain like most are doing....we don't know yet how he will be as Superman..he could turn out to be the best Superman..or the worse..we just don't know....my biggest gripe is no one is giving the guy a chance.

Yeah. People did the same thing when Reeve was first announced to play the role. Also the same with Michael Keaton. While Keaton wasn't great as Bale for the Bat role, but he didn't disappoint me much like many think he would before the trailer & the movie came out. Routh may be the same or he might do terrible. We don't know yet from not seeing the movie yet. Thought many fans who seen some of the clips at the San Diego Comic Con claim Routh was fantastic. Maybe not like Reeve, but good in his own way. That probably speak a lot about Routh possibly doing a great job, despite many think he will suck without proof.

And it dumb for many fans to dislike Routh & claim he don't look like the part or he's not built, etc. I'm making my points that many will just complain about even the stupidest thing like I mention, that it annoying. People just never want to give anything a chance which is sad.

Yeah, Superman came on today and it just reminded me of how great Reeve is and how sucky Routhe is. And I'm not saying that because I'm biased and think Reeve is the ultimate embodiment of Supes. Routhe just looks like a prissy little kid in the suit. He hasn't shown that he possesses Superman's charismatic and commanding presence in any of the pics. He looks so out of place, it's terrible. I won't be suprised if this movie get laughed out of the movie theatres.

Why? Why are people not allowed to comment on the way he looks in the suit if their comments are negative? Do we not have enough to base an opinion on? I dont see anyone complaining about the "Routh IS Superman", "Routh looks great! Based on this picture, I have decided I love the suit." comments or about anyone who is head over heels in love with the suit and build.

Damn skippy, everyone can argue all day, but when it comes down to it this is all opinion, so let me have mine. I like arguing, it's fun...don't get me wrong, but I am just being playful...you all are getting a little too serious...and it's kind of creepy.

I'm a huge fan of George Reeves(looks like a man), Christopher Reeve(looks like a man), Dean Caan(looks like a man, a little too pretty though), Welling (looks like a man), but this Routh guy just looks like SuperBoy...that's all I'm saying. Put him in a SuperBoy movie and that would be great, but I have read that this Superman Returns is picking up where Superman II left off...and it looks like Superman got some Botox or something because he looks like he hasn't hit puberty yet. That's my opinion.

And I'm not a hater, I love the Legend of Superman, that's just my opinion. Personally I think DC should calm down on the comic movies, they are just trying to cash in like Marvel and they are going to end up ruining some potentially good movies because they are just trying to throw something out there to join the game. Marvel is overloading the movie scene with too many titles, they are out of control. The Hulk movie blew, they were really pushing it with the Punisher. Look at the new Batman Movie...cheezy...again, my opinion.

Once again, this show people don't want to give Routh a chance & think he suck when they haven't seen the movie. And you said this movie would get laughed out loud? Man, they didn't when they saw Reeve wearing a diaper did they? And don't even put Reeve along with Routh, because none of us seen the movie to judge him when we seen Reeve as Supes in 4 movies.

Anyhow, I agree with your bit about opinion. We worry so much about the casting because we're Superman and comic book fans and we WANT the movie to be good, but Singer has disappointed us (again, our opinion) about casting and character choices. We worry that the general public will take one look at Routh and go, "That guy can't be Superman" and not go and see the movie.

In the big scheme of things, yeah, sure it's dumb that we're arguing over the production of a movie, but it's because we want the movie to do well. Tough love, if you want to call it that. But it's not like we have to agree with every decision that the director makes. We sure as heck can't do anything about it, though...

I dunno, I'm a huge figure skating fan and we rip/criticize skaters' programs on message boards all the time, and guess what? Turns out that sometimes those skaters' friends, family, or even coaches (dubious about the last one) read our boards and at times, yes, they do make changes. So, you never know who may be reading this.....
