The All Things Flash Thread. - Part 1

Daley and Goldstein did a Reddit AMA. They didn't answer anything about the Flash but it sounds like they know their stuff when it comes to the craft and how they did some inventive camera work for Game Night.

Sounds like we can look forward to some cool shots in this movie.

Game Night had really clever shots. From interviews it sounds like Vacation being terrible wasn't all on them.

I don't screencap, but I did copy and paste, removing the addresses and phone numbers. No working title for this film yet.

The storyline sees Barry Allen/The Flash travel back in time to avert the murder of his mother. However, when he returns to the present, his mother is still alive but the world is a nightmare, the Justice League doesn’t exist, and Barry must do everything he can to set things right… or as close to right as possible.

Ray still in it too? :hmm

Having Ray's name mentioned but not other JL cast, makes me think this might be a Flash solo in the vein of what Rick F was trying to do, but with a different tone and theme altogether.

Oh no, I hope that they are not shooting this movie in London. :whatever:

We have had enough movies shot in London already like Wonder Woman, Justice League and now Wonder Woman 2 is also going to shoot over there.

I really don't like that they are planning to shoot Flash in London too.

So, most of the shooting will be on sound stages with Green Screens, can we have something different ? How can London pass off a Central City ?

What's preventing them from shooting in US, don't MCU and Fox Marvel movies shoot in US ?

Yeah the Fox films usually move around the US and Canada, while most MCU movies film primarily in Atlanta since Avengers, but also do a lot of on location shooting for a lot of the larger set pieces used in the Age of Ultron and Civil War (could be others as well but I don't remember off the top of my head).

I really hope they're not shooting entirely in London. Justice League looked so bad with all it's green screen world, and constant sets. Why don't the spread out a little bit like they did for Suicide Squad where they shot in Canada. Can't be that much more expensive.

A somewhat smaller Midwest city would make perfect sense for Central City, yeah. London? Ehh

Captain America: The First Avenger was shot (entirely, I think) in the UK. London, Liverpool, and Manchester.

Ever since I went to St. Louis I've always kind of imagined that would be something similar to Central City.

It would be nice if Barry and Victor got to further connect, as I did enjoy some of their scenes together in Justice League.

The last DC film to shoot in the United States was BvS. Detroit, Chicago, New Mexico. Shazam is currently filming in Toronto and Aquaman was filmed in Australia and Italy.

Last time they said something like they were talking to WB about the movie (negotiating stage), I guess this tweet means now they have got the job and now are Officially given the charge of making the movie. Great !

OK, this is being reported in various sites, looks like they are set to direct The Flash movie.

Edit: Surprised that not many posters are posting here, oh well. The director - writer duo have directed Vacation and written Spider-Man: Homecoming (the draft which was modified a bit later but still is the used in the movie) and Game Night which has got good reviews, so they are good choice, IMO.

I'm sure that Flash will get a new suit in this movie, what I want to know is whether Flashpoint is still on cards or not ?

What's your beef with Warners filming most of their recent tentpoles in England, apart from the green screen complaint? They want to get the most bang for their buck, as filming and post-production for WW were completed in the UK. And not just that, WB also owns their own soundstages at Leavesden so they can coordinate multiple shoots there. (And that doesn't rule out Flashpoint doing location shots in America either.)

And Atlanta has become so busy in the past few years, it's possible facility space was at a premium at the time WB wants to film Flashpoint. Ditto for Canada. It's possible WB will move filming to America if they get better incentives from, say, Michigan or Chicago.

Just woke from a coma, is the movie still coming out this weekend? :lmao:

I just hope with Flashpoint they basically use this film as a platform to further build the DCEU as far as the shared universe concept and expanding on that to build towards the inevitable Justice League sequel
