I'm not saying TASM will be superior, but the trilogy has a chance...

Oh, of course! This will hopefully be a stepping stone of sorts. I'll just be happy if TASM itself is a good film, which is what it's shaping up to be.

Looks like the RT rating has gone down to an 87%, which is around what I expected it to be with my 85% prediction. We'll probably get a bunch more positives and a few negatives.

93 to 87, dayum.

After seeing the movie they felt it wasn't engaging enough meaning telling the origins again was a mistake. Anybody can list the top 10 things of why this movie is gonna work but in the end if it doesn't, it doesn't.

But...GR: SOV didn't work in any way, shape or form.
The acting was mostly terrible, the action was generic, and there wasn't really even a story, it just jumped around a lot.

IGN always gives biased reviews (that is according to likes / dislikes of the reviewer) instead of objectively analyzing a movie for what it is, I say ignore the review.

also look at some of the negative comments posted under the review -

They should change the title to The OK Spider-Man.

Marvel really needs to buy the rights back to Spidey and do it right.

More like finding a different director. Sony's not the problem.

More like give it to Paramount so that he can become an Avenger!

QUICK EVERYONE BACK TO RAIMI

You know a movie sucks when the GAME is better than the Movie

Those types of comments just makes me want to punch someone in the face :cmad:

Maybe he graded GR:SOV on a scale of: piece of turd to I wasn't bored.

Alright, I'm calling it a night, everyone. Hopefully, we'll have a flood of good reviews tomorrow.

The percentage goes up 1 for each positive review, but goes down 5+ for a negative one. Damn you math :argh:
Seriously though, there is nothing to worry about. It will go up and down a lot and finally settle at, my guess, mid 80's. Which is really good in my book.

Dirt off your shoulders, this review will be forgotten by tomorrow.

Lol, no one wants to post RT's score now, which is kinda silly. How many were really only hoping for a 90% or up?

geeks will hate critics if they don't agree with them. But when they do, fanboys fall in love with them. Very, very fickle.

I bet it'll get a lot worse with TDKR, so don't try to act all "composed" right now.

I just have a feeling that SONY made a lot of final desicions on this film...

1st Clue: EggyMan said that the whole "untold story" is NOT present in the final film. And a LOT of the scenes we've seen in the trailers that revolve around that story were cut last minute...

2nd Clue: Marc Webb, who was once open to talk sequels is now changing his tune...often the case when a studio puts their mitts all over a director's movie for the worse.

I'm getting worrying about this film. Hopefully there is a director's cut--but who knows.

I say this as one of this film's biggest fans and someone who has been rooting for this film to do well since the beginning...

So...we're geeks and fanboys?
Yeah...ok...whatever.

I'm painting in very broad strokes, but it's collectively but not all (I'm a geek too..duh i'm this board) , which is the pattern of the geek community.

I think it's counter-inituative though it makes for fun debates. But it lacks perspective until the movie actually comes out. It's fun to speculate but then it becomes a witch hunt sometimes, even though most here haven't seen said film. It happens all the time that I see the pattern.
