The Amazing Spider-Man The Amazing Spider-Man (First Reactions: Critics, Fans) (Spoiler Alert) - Part 8

I've found the Bat forums to have much more respect lately, so we'll agree to disagree on the backlash.

Maybe I'm a bit naive but a good number of the comments for the negative Avengers reviews annoyed me with how offensive they are.

Yeah..for now. Just wait...just you wait.

Just wait?

Wait for...a Batman version of SpiderMarvelite? Lol.

I think you are taking those reviews too close into thinking every CBM fan will act like that.

haha true..good news for now .. tell me who isn´t waiting to see TDKR?
but when i don´t know 20 reviews are completly positive and 1 is mixed-positive well THE FIRE RISES!:woot::oldrazz:

Dude gives this a 6/10, but the same reviewer gave Ghost Rider: SOV an 8/10.

This could go the other way though, couldn't it? People enjoying the film could still not understand the character of Peter Parker/Spider-Man as much as a fan does and they may not enjoy it as the regular "movie-goer".

I hope that many fans are able to tell if the movie works for general audience who are not familiar with the character, even if the movie stays true to comics but fails as a movie then it deserves the criticism, for example Watchmen was very close to source material but it could not get good ratings from critics and GA hated it.

I'm hoping TASM will be the Eli Manning to SM1-3's Peyton. While everyone fawns over the older brother - rightfully so, he's a legend in his own right - the younger one carves his own (possibly superior?) legacy.

As a lifelong Giants fan...I hope that's true just for the analogy.

I've only been on the Hype for a year but I always hear people that don't visit the bat boards because they consider it the 9th level of hell. I don't ever understand that but I guess it must've been pretty bad there before.

I don't go there much because I'm the new guy. It's hard to get into a discussion and be noticed.

haha i remember the first time when i went there!

I wasn't on here during The Dark Knight days, but that's when I heard it was really bad, but...the TDKR boards isn't bad at all. I can go there, give my opinion, and not get blasted by hate.

The ironic thing is on the Spidey boards, I mentioned one or two things I don't like about TAS-M and I get told that I'm a hater and I am already saying this reboot will be awful.

Yoru opinion is not hated , you just seem to expect TASM to be bad and the batboards is all positive because is TDKR,IMO

Lol. Yah, but even that opinion is laughable. Not once have I said I expect TAS-M to be bad, only that I see it getting around the 80s percentile on RT and that a few scenes have rubbed me the wrong way.

Is it wrong that I absolutely love what TDKR is doing with Bane or Catwoman? And I definitely have some nitpicks for Catwoman and I've been outspoken about it.

What my opinion?:csad: is still opinion, isn´t it?

and i understand about Catwoman and Bane but EVERYONE KNOWS is going to be good
you know "In nolan we trust"

Sounds like IGN is saying It was the spider-man we deserved...but not the one we needed right now.

...lol

I like Nolan's Bat movies but Nolanites are not tolerant towards negative reviews, I can only imagine the flood of comments towards a negative IGN review of TDKR, I fear that will cause Bat boards meltdown. :oldrazz:

It would be same for Avengers 2 with Whedon directing it and it getting a negative review on IGN. (if that happens.)

No one here is getting "blasted by hate", when RIM posted his horrible reaction to the movie nobody was mad at him or anything

For many reasons TDKR doesn't get almost any hate at all so there's naturally not nearly as much opinions about it looking bad, so the threads are more peaceful. And I believe that there are way more people that would blindly defend TDKR even if it turned out to be a bad movie (which I don't believe it will be)

I don't see you as a hater, I think that a prime example of a TASM hater would be Chaseter. I mean, when RIM told that the movie was horrible, Chaseter actually replied by saying "Wow... I have so much more respect for you right now"... I know that comment basically means "thanks for telling your honest opinion" but if he wasn't a hater he wouldn't have gone overboard like that and he would've said something like "I respect you for telling your honest opinion"

In Chaseter's defense, wouldn't you think he was being honest and unbiased if he said TASM is good? Wouldn't you like him a bit more if his review was positive rather than negative? I think it can go both ways.

Yeah this is nothing. And things are much worse on other batboards elsewhere. From what I've heard, the mods really cracked down (ie did their jobs) here at the hype, and that's why things are relatively civil in the bat forums now.

Once the movie opens and there is a wide consensus of opinion, things should be less "touchy" in here. Some people are a bit antsy at the moment.

When you think I expect this movie to bad then yes, it's laughable, lol. Especially since I've never acted like that or said that at all.

Are you kidding me? People immediately saying "Well RIM, that's just your opinion and all" and just immediately disowning his review just because it was negative much like every other negative review we've gotten as the fans don't even want to acknowledge them.

Thats a far cry from "blasted by hate" . still not fair, but no need to be hyperbolic. and most of us stuck up for him actually. i cant wait to read his review in fact.

From Scott's review it sounds like he just didn't like the idea of a reboot to begin with and ultimately just didn't connect with the film. Which is the total opposite of how I feel.
