i actually thought Prometheus was okay in 3D Transformers in 3-d was pretty well used also

... okay, so what if Avatar, Toy Story 3, and Avengers are the only movies I've seen in 3D? :oldrazz:

Its sort of impressive that the studio has been so successful at enforcing the embargo. What that enforcement is exactly im not sure, but it has been quite effective.

I only see 3D if the reviews are clamoring about the 3D. I really don't care about 3D otherwise. Watch it in 2D because that is how I will watch it at home.

Isn't that more of a reason to watch it in 3D? The movie theater is your only chance to experience it in 3D at all then.

I am only seeing this movie in 3D though because I am seeing it in IMAX. Want to watch this on as big of a screen as possible.

Going to the Today show in a few hours, going to see if I can meet any of the cast members.

I thought Toy Story 3 was a good use of the medium. But I suppose it's easier with animation, eh?

Toy Story 3 has been the only film I saw in 3D as I was dragged to see it in 3D, lol. Have to admit, it looked pretty awesome, but I think it would with animation. I'll stick to 2D with live action.

The Today show?

If it was the afternoon hour, I would ask you to punch Kathie Lee for me. She's a ***** and she badmouthed The Dark Knight...still hate her for that :awesome:

You are right, she doesnt have the right to have her own opinion
Anyone who doesnt like TDK is wrong and should be punched in the face

Kotaku put a review up...courtesy of Kotaku East in Japan. They were at the early screening that Kendo went to.

Amazing Spider-Man film is..Well..Amazing.

Final Thoughts

Despite the (admittedly minor) complaints I had about the film, I found The Amazing Spider-Man to be a generally well thought out, well-acted movie. I'd go so far as to call it the best superhero origin film this side of Iron Man. It was a refreshing take on the character and the supporting cast really blew me away. And now that we have all this origin business out of the way, I look forward to seeing what this spider can do when he's free of his web.

Getting a lot of positive buzz.

I think we can almost certainly say it'll be better than Spider-Man 1 and 3.

It won't be easy to get most people to agree that ASM is better than SM2. SM2 came out before TDK and Avengers so it was considered the best of the best for a while before people's standards were increased.

I'd be happy with most people agreeing it was better than SM1 (only a 65% user rating on RT).

I don't know if this film will beat SM1 for me, but I don't really feel like comparing either.

Yeah, they can both be great films in their own right, especially if SM1 is more of a Silver Age Spidey and this is more of a Ultimate Spidey.

Exactly, I'd rather treat them as separate entities and judge them on their own merits because they're so different.

For me, it will probably be even with SM1. Yeah, it hasn't aged well, but I still love SM1.

Hey, if it's better than SM3, we all win at the end of the day.

That's my word, the hardest thing to do will be to not compare them. I think that's just human nature. I'm sure it'll get easier as the years go on or once the sequel comes out but it will be so so tough to not compare and contrast

I guess it is human nature, but just as an analogy, I appreciate both the Burton batfilms and the Nolan batfilms for what they were as two different interpretations of the character, I don't tend to compare them as if one is necessarily better than the other. With these sorts of comparisons one must be very careful not to strike false dichotomies I think.

Of course, the Schumacher films on the other hand...
