*hey Sharkboy. I know you don't mean to spoil things...but could you keep the TDKR talk...in that forum. I'm trying to go into that movie (like I'm sure a few others) as spoiler free as possible.

Don't blame him, it was me going OT and asking about it. My fault, sorry!

One more week to go!

I highly recommend getting the Marvel Select Spider-Man and Lizard figures guys and gals, both two great figures.

Forget the Hasbro garbage. These two figures are great.

This is a good example of 3D being hit or miss with just about everyone, because I thought the 3D in Toy Story 3 was pretty bad :funny:

The best use of 3D that I've seen (aside from Avatar) is definitely Transformers 3, but that's just me.

You guys will laugh at me (and justifiably so haha) but the greatest 3D I've EVER seen was...Step Up 3D. Not kidding.

Saw it twice in theaters just because the 3D was THAT good. Yes, better than Avatar. Absolutely stunning.

Ok, you may now mock me endlessly. I deserve it. :woot:

Yeah using irony/humor/sarcasm in the same sentence as TDK can rub certain folks the wrong way. Quip at your own risk.

We just need more reviews ASAP! People are getting antsy.

As a big 3D buff who knows what good 3D looks like, the 3D here is absolutely stellar, the thing is, a lot of 3D haters are just saying "yeah don't notice it", good 3D is perfectly natural, it blends in, you dont need to be reminded of it every single time.

The depth here is this, perfectly natural, like Prometheus (shot with Red Epic as well), it feels natural, unobtrusive. And to those who say that you dont notice it (they're saying the same thing with every 3D movie but whatever), I'm telling them "remove your glasses and watch", flat vs depth, I had movies where I was telling myself "3D isnt great, lets remove the glasses to see" and I just miss it then.

The 3D is up 10.000 notches in the action scenes and webslinging scenes obviously, and it looks superb, Spidey coming out of the screen, pop out instances, the first person stuff looks insane (wish they had more of that).

What more can I say?! Good 3D is natural, I do like pop out stuff more, than it's not what this is about here, you can get this with Haribo ads or such, or cartoons, or animated features, but it's about depth, immersion, getting immersed in the world.

.

In both Avatar and Prometheus I was constantly aware of 3D and constantly annoyed by it. I only saw the latter that way because my local theater didn't have a 2D showing. I won't be seeing TASM in 3D, that's for sure.

The format, as it currently stands, is still frivolous garbage. Were it not for the high returns it brings in Asia, studios wouldn't continue with it.

:up::up::up:

Thank you! I always try to tell people this. 3D should be about the background, not the foreground. The things-popping-out-of-a-screen 3D is just gimmicky. Good 3D gives you a sense of depth, like you're looking out a window rather than looking at a painting.

I am sure that some will disagree but to me the biggest gimmick was watching Avengers in 3D, it was almost a joke.

I found it useless.

How could Sony remove the video if everything in there is from released material.

90%+ of Official Reviews have been totally positive and nearly 100% positive response from the GA and this guy will release a review on wednesday which supposedly 'aint good' when he hasnt even seen the movie yet!!

What a jackass

Well 2 reviews on RT are positive but not totally positive. So far it seems it's a good film...not amazing or awful.
