One hero Im really looking fwd to seeing is Ant Man in A3. I always loved how in the comics theyd have The Avengers standing around and Giant Man or Goliath was towering over everyone else. One thing we never see in movies is characters who shrink and grow to huge sizes and walk around.

If Thanos is not all that powerful, then why are there hints of the Infinity Gems? Thanos will get control of all of the gems somehow, which makes him near unstoppable.

The Zola AI was stored in those hundreds of databanks that got blown up. If he did somehow escape, it could only be a remnant, not him in his entirety.

Those huge databanks are ancient and I bet you anything they weren't even 1/2 a TB. There are 1 TB flashdrives in our world so I would imagine the MCU has better tech. It is completely feasible he could have stored himself on the flash drive or uploaded himself to the net while he was calling in a Hydra strike team. How else would he call in the strike if he weren't connected to the net?

Then why would MCU debut Dr. Strange and Ant Man if all it takes is the Avengers and Guardians to stop a less powerful Thanos?

He's going to be all powerful, because it makes no sense to debut new heroes if he's not all powerful.

That'd be pretty anti-climatic though. Thanos without the IG would stomp the Avengers in the comics. Obviously the threat level needs to be appropriate, even if it is scaled down.

He should be physically stronger than Thor and Hulk. As intelligent as Stark. And as tactical and skilled as Cap.

He should be the ultimate enemy. The biggest "big bad" in any action movie ever.

Because they want an Ant-Man and Dr.Strange franchise, they are not adding franchises for characters to help beat Thanos. Who knows if Thanos will even be in A3.

It could however be really chaotic and mess having 15 different people fighting Thanos, plus think of the budget they couldn't do a lot of things because of the budget in the Avengers which was over 200mill. Now think of trying to do Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Thor, Hulk, Groot, Rocket, Dr.Strange, Ant-Man and any others aswell as Thanos

Avengers 2 & 3 (barring a disaster with 2) are pretty much guaranteed to do huge business at home and abroad so they can afford to have a bigger budget than other big but less guaranteed hits which are also on budgets of $200m+. Man of Steel was what $225m? And I'm not sure how much TASM2 & DOFP were but high surely and much less a guarantee of big bucks than Avengers sequels.

By the time A3 rolls around, i don't think Marvel would have a problem with a 300 million dollar budget. Or more.

Age of Ultron is a certainty for at least a billion even at this point. It could even go to 2 billion if the marketing is fantastic and it's a well received film.

The IG story had dozens of heroes fighting Thanos. I think Marvel want to end the Avengers trilogy with that kind of scale. They'll go out with a bang. That's why they are saving the Mad Titan for the third Avengers film instead of using him in A2 like many people initially thought after the teaser in the first Avengers.

No, but that's the beauty of the inter-connecting tapestry of stories. They are individual stories that are part of one giant one. There is another Infinity Stone in GotG. There will probably be another one in Dr Strange.
