A military extra!

jk tho first england pics showed us there were tanks etc at the forest with scarjo's stunt woman. there must be a big fighting sequel with military

hi fwiends, just got some news from my friend in Norwich, England, she just auditioned for the role of a military extra! Any thoughts on what that could be?

Whaaaa-? I live there, can you find out if they're filming nearby? Or is it just that she's from Norwich? :wow:

from twitter

@RachelDeakin13
There are auditions for extras on campus today for the next Avengers movie, how cool!

also fyi AOU is shooting at Shepperton studios

Werent those HYDRA tanks? The gang must be fighting em near one of the hidden bases maybe?

So why get extras from Norwich...? That's nowhere near Shepperton :/

For those who live in the area...

shepperton is the sound stage filming. didn't mean to combine both casting calls was just saying

military shooting must happen in an open place. twitter is saying people are auditioning on campusses

@BENECILIN
Well.. Didn't expect to be going to an open audition for an extra in Avengers 2 today... #AvengersAgeOfUltron #marvelcinematicuniverse

Son of a Coul... :'(

I could have been in Avengers!!! How did you get that flyer??

(Also codename Afterparty :woot:)

So I guess we can look forward to getting some spy shots on June 5th and 6th.

Hopefully we'll get some info on what kind of military it is

She's at uni there, I'll let you know what happened if she's allowed to tell me. I just hope big bad Feige isn't scrolling through these forums

Here I am sitting at work and the Avengers are in town. No luck!!

Will be very interested to know where they're filming, just so I can go watch :woot:

It's supposedly at the sainsburys art centre? looks like a hangar but they want a museum type looking place?

Probably a HYDRA kind of military. As noted earlier, we've already seen HYDRA tanks in set shots in the UK.

I could see that doubling as a HYDRA hangar. Those Ziggurats look pretty unique and modern, too....wouldn't be surprised if they use that kind of architecture to suggest a major HYDRA base.

Pls give some new photos marvel! I wanna see the avengers doing their outdoor shooting!!

The Triskelion: maybe its similar to that inside

The problem with the X-men being in the same universe as other superheroes, in any format is the fact that humans are scared of mutants, but not other beings with powers.

Even if they have the FF in the same universe as X-men, why would humans be trying to kill mutants but be cheering the FF. X-men are best in their own universe unless you are willing to ignore the above.

I would *love* to see someone with the balls to do a recreation of the X-mythos that *doesn't* rely on anti-mutant bigotry as a giant crutch. Start with the ground rule that "within western society, the Friends of Humanity are looked upon with the same esteem as a mixture of the Nazis and the KKK." Then create plots: individual mutants struggling to adjust to having powers; factions within society competing to bring the most mutants into their purview, because the more mutant citizens/employees you have, the more power you have; culture changing under the influence of ubiquitous superpowers; and of course, people deciding to use their newfound power for evil, and good hearted individuals needing to stand up and stop them.

Could be any number of things really. Hydra forces, local military, who knows? Hopefully people will be taking cool BTS pics though!

Also welcome to the Hype!

haha great post. That pretty much is all the X-Men are about.

Morrison tried to do something different and i liked it a lot.

Good read.

That's one of the problems I have with Singer. I'll give him plenty of props on geek cred, but he limits his interpretation of X-Men to a very narrow view; viz., "discrimination is bad." That's not quite the point that Claremont and others have tried to make over the decades. It's not so much that discrimination is bad; it's that diversity and individualism are *good.* I think Vaughn had a much better grasp of that than Singer.

War Machine is the weakest link in the MCU for me. I dont need to see him longer than 5 minutes in AOU. Sorry Rhodey but thats the truth.

Yeah, honestly I don't see the appeal. He's just the Call of Duty edition of Iron Man. And as for firepower, I don't see how a gatling gun is better than laser beams. Sure it was fun seeing WM rip up drones with automatic fire, but at the same time it's just so horribly inefficient. He must have been expending entire magazines worth of bullets just to take out 2-3 drones whereas Tony was basically taking them down casually.

Mark 7 (Avengers) was a better "war suit" too, what with it being loaded with missiles, being able to sustain damage from plasma weapons, and being able fire repulsors while flying.

Now give WM a laser gatling gun and I might be impressed.

Rhodey's cameo I imagine being our connection to the Air Force's response to whatever shenanigans HYDRA and/or Ultron unleashes.
