I don't think his role is as integral. We'll see cool stuff, but in terms of performance I don't think he'll be bad. I don't think he'll have quite enough screen time to be bad quite frankly. But who knows.

His performance was far from "piss poor". He just had a really generic script to work with.

I don't WANT anyone to die but if Ultron isn't even capable of killing 1 hero out of half a dozen then he's just the typical villain that gets his ass kicked and doesn't really pose enough of a threat to say he's one of the baddest villains.

I never liked Wasp or ant man. Their powers were crappy.

So you judge how compelling a character is based on their powers?

nope. since QS had only one scene in DOFP and behaved like Speed and not like QS, I'm not worried at all

It seems to me that QS in DOFP is quicker than the Flash, as well. I doubt even Barry Allen would've moved that fast.

I'm not (however I've not seen ATJ in Godzilla, but other things I've seen him in he's been pretty okay - so whatever issues there are with Godzilla could be more down to writing/directing)

Yes, QS in DOFP was entertaining, and the kitchen scene was pretty funny, but I still don't care for his look, and he wasn't in the movie nearly enough for me to agree with some people that I've heard say he 'stole the entire movie'. For me, the QS bar is still set pretty low and I don't think it will be hard for Joss to get ATJ to jump over it.

If that makes sense, and of course just my personal opinion.

you could really tell he was trying hard, but then again I always considered him to be a supporting character to Cranston...

and as much as i enjoyed the kitchen scene in DoFP; I did not know QS had the ability to stop time... and i was surprised that the early reviews said he stole the show. Its like the initial negative reception got to everyone that the bar was set too low. imo McAvoy's Xavier stole the show.

What comics have you read with them? Busiek's Ultron Unlimited... which is one of the best Avenger stories ever?

Heh. I don't think it'd be as big a deal to some hardcore fans if it weren't for a few factors...

- been working with Marvel on this since pre-Iron Man
- things in the MCU were changed to fit the vision
- Pym has been non-existent to date because of it
- the idea that now that he's gone, they'll still have to go forward with the Lang story

Yeah, I wasn't all that excited for it, personally. I love Pym as a character, and I've never liked Wright's stuff like Scott Pilgrim, so...

I love Wright's films
and he was more or less the only reason I was paying attention to Ant Man (though my Marvel love will probably make me go see it regardless)

but to spend 8 years working on a script and still not have it right, even by your own standards??
that's just unacceptable

That said, I really hope they don't use the rewritten Disney script that is apparently just awful

Now Wright is comparing himself to Buster Keaton. *Yawn* They should bring in the guys who wrote Cap 2 to fix it up.

I think if they cant get this film up and running soon with the current script, they could just push it back a year and put Cap 3 as the first Phase 3 film. Noones going to complain because Cap comes out before Ant Man.
