Yeah, 2014 is a quick turnaround. Joss will likely want to do something else in-between, I hope Marvel doesn't rush him.

2015 should be when the sequel comes out. I doubt he does the movie if they force it to be done for 2014.

Not yet, but I have my fingers crossed for May 16, 2014.

You want to kill Whedon?:oldrazz: Give the guy a breather, he just worked insanely hard to get everything done on time for the first film. 2 years is a very short period of time in the movie business.

I'm thinking 2016, to allow for new characters to be introduced in their own films & for Whedon to go do something else for a while, recharge his Avenger batteries and go at the next film with more prep time.

2016 sounds like a long time to wait!

I want to work Whedon like a rented mule. He can take it. :woot: :bdh:

I know 2014 is a dream, but what the heck, I like to dream. I would be crushed if the date were 2016, though. That's crazy talk!

2016 would be a 4-year wait for TA2, which is far too long. I think 2015 is reasonable, since we'd be getting sequels for IM, Thor, and Cap, plus a new solo movie (signs seemed to point toward Dr. Strange), and all of them can reunite for TA2. I'm not sure where Ant-Man will fit in all of these, though.

I'd rather wait til 2016. You don't want to oversaturate the GA's thirst for these characters. We have 3 straight years of Thor in a movie, which is great for a fan, but I worry about it turning into a Saw franchise.

I think Thor 2 should be moved to 2014. I just hope audiences won't get tired of too many Thor.

A four year wait is not that big of a deal, TDKR has one and the anticipation is still there. Thor 2 probably should move since Catching Fire is the week after which could really hurt its success, considering how popular THG did.

That's my concern. It might work in the comic books but after awhile, the stories might seem repetitive.

Thor 2 will naturally be clearly different from the first since that was about him finding his maturity and understanding what his responsibilities really demand of him. Avengers will likely conclude the part where Loki is the main villain, plus that it's about Thor's place in the Avengers, so I don't see that being much like anything in Thor 2 either.

If anything it's Thor 2 and 3 that could be more similar, but they certainly don't have to be and there might be more time between them.

It's the opposite for me. I'm thinking people are going to be wanting to see MORE of Thor after they see what he can really do in The Avengers.

Yes it needs to move

Hemsworth vs Hemsworth smackdown!

I think Catching Fire might move actually, look at how Summit moved Ender's Game to November

I love the fact that we're getting THOR 2 next year, but I'm worried about if that is enough time to develope a good script.

I would have preferred if MARVEL STUDIOS had a new character movie, e.g. BLACK PANTHER or ANT MAN, next year alongside IRON MAN 3, and have THOR 2 in 2014.

But it's out of my hands obviously.

Little hems was barely even in that film
True. He'll be in the next one a lot more. THG is much bigger than Thor at the moment domestically. Noone should be too proud to move.

Yeah, looking at the names on their directorial candidates list for Catching Fire, I don't think anyone of the caliber they're looking for is gonna agree to do it without getting the release date pushed back a bit so they're not quite so rushed.

Why push THOR II back to 2014 when they can just move it back to it's original release date of July?

Yeah but is it going to be bigger than The Avengers, in which Chris still has a much bigger role than Liam in THG.

Avengers might be the beneficiary of this survey being conducted during its media/marketing surge while other films are still relatively quiet but its still good news.

2. “The Dark Knight Rises” 23%
3. “The Bourne Legacy” 14%
4. “Men in Black 3” 8%
5. “Prometheus” 7%

Women’s Picks for Most Anticipated Summer Movie:
1. “Snow White and the Huntsman” 22%
2. “The Avengers” 16%
3. “Men in Black 3” 13%
4. “The Dark Knight Rises” 10%
5. “Dark Shadows” 8%

That's great news coming out of The Hollywood Reporter and Fandango about how Avengers is tracking. Hope this opens huge, and legs carry it well into the summer. :)

I'm wondering why THR only pitted the Avengers numbers against TDK and THG, though....seems like the more "appropriate" showdown would've been to see how those anticipation/awareness numbers stack up against TDKR. (I don't think they need to run the numbers on TASM, though....the tracking has already shown to be abysmal on all levels....:( )
